Since 1980 I'd pick every champ to beat them besides maybe the '94 Rockets, '03 Spurs & '06 Heat

They raped everyone. Dropped a total of 5 games in the postseason.

Had the greatest offensive player ever and absolutely elite defenders at the wings and Center position.

Who would've beat them?

And yet he was invisible in every single 4th quarter.

And was guarded one on one by 75 year old Kidd.

1. OP is a racist troll
2. Dirk isn't the greatest WHITE offensive player, much less greatest overall
3. Their own owner didn't think it was worth keeping them together the next season.

7.5 pts on 55% shooting in the 4th Quarters

Shot 55% on shots in the last 5 minutes to tie or take the lead

Where was he in Game 2, Game 5, and Game 6? He seriously faded down the stretch of those games.

Where was he in games 1, 3 and 4? Just admit you were wrong in saying he was invisible in every 4th quarter, he just disappeared in 3 of the 6

Game 1 didn't really matter because Miami took control of the second half.

He should've been better though because he was only receiving single coverage and by Kidd.

Cause he used up all his energy carrying the offense. He literally needed an oxygen tank in one game in Dallas

He was playing elite defense as well

9pts, 1 stl in the 4th Quarter of Game 2
10 pts, 3 asts, 1 stl, 1 blk in the 4th Quarter of Game 5
He was hurt in Game 6

Yeah I confused Game 5 with Game 4...Game 4 he sucked in the 4th. Game 2 after he hit that 3 and posed in front of the Dallas bench he got creampied by Dirk those last 5 minutes and didn't do shit.

Bron ball stopping ruined his Game 2.

In Game 4 outside of the missed Free Throw he had 7 pts & 2 blks

I give that team credit for how they paved the way on how teams approach offenses in today's league, they ran a free flowing offense where the ball moved alot, the Spurs took it to another level and now we have the Warriors doing the same.

I liked that Mavs' team, they showed that basketball IQ beats talent any day, but I've seen a handful of teams who were better. They were just a well coached team and Dirk got hot at the best time possible.

Meh...Kind of what he was doing in the playoffs.

08-10 in the playoffs...Dirk was a 63% TS player for those 3 years leading into 11.

In 11? 61% TS...

It would be more accurate to say his teammates got hot...Jason Terry went form being a 53% TS player the previous 3 years to a 60% TS player

As for the OP...no, while the 11 Mavs were/are definitely better than get credit for...I don't think they are better than quite a few teams.

The Heat team that that lost to them in the finals started Joel Anthony at center, 33 year old Mike Bibby, and had almost zero bench production. Spo was also in just his 3rd season as a head coach. With all that in consideration it still took a major stinker by Lebron for Dallas to win. Don't get me wrong, the Mavs were a very good team, but I'm just trying to keep things in perpective. If in the 4th quarter of game 2 Wade had just said "f*** it, I'm not playing super friend. I'm dropping 50 tonight", the Heat might have swept the series.

Or If LeBron just scores 12 points in Game 4 they go up 3-1 and put the series on lock

They were unbeatable in the playoffs with their ball movement and 3 point shooting

Dirk was also playing like a LEGEND

Credit where credits due, NOONE could have beat them, I don't blame anyone for losing to them

Funny because they ran absolute train against Boston and Chicago and yet the next two postseasons they barely beat a Boston and Indiana squad that was maybe 30% as good.

2011 was Wade's last peak season, and Bosh's postseason play dipped considerably after 2011

And Bosh was hurt in the 2012 postseason (missing games) - Wade was a bit gimpy too - that condensed season really hurt him tbh.

Yet that 11 team...after the first 20 games...was pretty dominant. And they were healthy in the playoffs.

11 - 3rd offense / 5th defense...6.76 SRS (1st in league) (20 game slow start)

12 - 8th offense / 4th defense...5.72 SRS (4th in league)

13 - 2nd offense / 9th defense...7.03 SRS (2nd in league)

14 - 5th offense / 11th defense...4.15 SRS (7th in league)

Meh...the 13 team was the best in the regular season and clearly the best built team overall, but the problem was that both Wade and Bosh were hurt in the playoffs...

The 14 team was clearly the worst.

So it's between the 11 and 12 team as the best version of the Heat in the playoffs...and that answer depends on how much credit we give the Mavs for Lebron playing so poorly. Don't know the answer, but I do know that the Heat in 11 were a ****ing dominant team after the slow start...and even with the slow start of roughly 25% of the season...they still grade out very well as a team.

So lets tap the brakes about under-valuing a prime Lebron/Wade/Bosh healthy team that pretty much dominated the league despite spending the first qtr of the season figuring things out.

Yep...12-3...8-2 against the 6th rated (SRS) Celtics and 2nd rated Bulls.

Now, I do think it is fair to factor in "the choke", but we have to stop pretending like the Heat improved a lot the next 3 years in the playoffs. Literally nothing supports that.

Not only did they just look worse and have a tougher time with worse teams, but Wade had clearly dropped off considerably from 11...especially in 13 and 14.
