Sadly, the following is right in the middle of the article. This is why there are riots on the streets. This is completely unnecessary. They're sensationalizing the story...
[QUOTE][B][I]Both Legrier and Jones were black, the Cook County medical examiner

I've been reading a lot lately about how police officers literally have no adequate training and most certainly are not even close to being equipped to dealing with mental health issues.
We really need to protest about the training they provide these officers because you can't just walking around shooting your problems away. That's an odd story

6 months police academy 6 days a week + 6 months supervised field training before you ever go out on patrol. Truth is it's a fuggin jungle out there and a police officer has every right to use lethal force instead of getting beaten to death with a baseball bat. That's a justifiable use of defense against assault with a deadly weapon.
If all the criminals in Chicago didn't happen to be black, maybe there wouldn't be a racial disparity in lethal use of force.

I have no idea why American cops are so against tasers. So damn trigger happy.
The story said the kid had a bat? The cops in London, who don't even carry guns usually, recently took down a terror suspect who was slashing people with a knife... using a taser (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fAM4fK9CP0).
And Again (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXHorIrLFIc)
One more time (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uf5fG7Ehs90)
Even Outside Buckingham Palace (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXiZAfGUujU)
Why is that so hard for American cops to do? :confusedshrug:
All of those dudes would've been shot and killed most likely if that was Chicago, NYC, or LA instead of London.
Really the only time a gun should be the first option is when the suspect has a gun himself.

Two words: zero accountability.
Like dude up there said, a police officer is justified in shooting dead someone because he has a bat. Whereas most of us would see that as excessive and who's to really say it isn't? They've clearly developed their own rules and bend them as they see fit accordingly to avoid any real repercussions.
Some situations I will agree with. There was the dude waving the gun around at the gas station and law enforcement killed him.
When you have various non lethal weapons at your disposal I don't know why someone should die with a baseball bat.

Stray bullet(s)? That's a report, nothing official, no video proof anything, the journalist could be wrong, both of them might have disobeyed :confusedshrug:

Who knows? Maybe the woman was combative too, there's no story yet.
Here's a question? What do a 19 year old kid and a 55 year old woman have in common at 4am? Can you say drugs? That would be my guess. If the kid got shot because he was charging with a bat ima guess the cop didn't just shoot the woman to death for good measure. Sounds like attack of the crackheads if I had to guess.

A baseball bat isn't a deadly weapon if someone tries to attack you with one? One blow to the head and you're dead. Btw legally speaking this isn't even an argument, a baseball bat IS considered assault with a deadly weapon. It's not cops bending the rules, it's the law. What's the cop supposed to do in your opinion? Use karate? Lmao

Dumb dumb dumb. A little different to sneak in a taser on someone who's knifing somebody else than to tase someone with a baseball bat. What's the strike radius for a baseball bat 8 feet? By the time you get within taser range he's hit 3 grand slams off your skull. These are terrible arguments I'm hearing.

So if it's a knife, bat, chainsaw, nunchucks, samurai sword etc you think a police officer has an obligation to "make it a fair fight" and risk their own life using a taser or baton? You can't seriously believe what you're typing.

Wheres the thread for the 12 people shot on Christmas in Chicago
The one sensible cop in his department handled the situation before his partners could light this man up:
Middletown Man Wielding Bat Shot With Taser, Police Say
MIDDLETOWN — A man who allegedly came at officers wielding a baseball bat was shot with a Taser Sunday morning on Jefferson Street, police said.
Officers were at 56 Jefferson Avenue after receiving reports of a disturbance about 3 a.m. While there, 42-year-old Lyonelle Mason came out of the house with the baseball bat, according to a police report.
Officers told him to drop the bat, but instead he continued towards them, the report says. The officers drew their guns and continued to tell him to drop the bat.
One officer fired his Taser at Mason, who then dropped the bat and was taken into custody, according to the report.
He was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, interfering with an officer and disorderly conduct.

From Canada, literally the same situation- Police respond to a dispute between neighbors, one of the neighbors grabs a bat and goes after police. But take out the trigger happy maniacs wearing badges and this happens instead:
Taser used on man threatening neighbours with a baseball bat
Durham Regional police say one of their officers used a taser to subdue a man threatening neighbours with a baseball bat.
It happened on Sunday at approximately 3:30 pm. Police say they responded to a residence on Greenfield Crescent in Whitby after a male suspect got into an argument with neighbours, then confronted them with a baseball bat. Officers located the suspect at his residence and attempted to speak to him, but he refused to cooperate. They say he exited his house numerous times throwing items at the police, including hockey sticks, flashlights and a metal pole.
When the suspect exited again, an officer deployed his taser and the male was successfully handcuffed. No neighbours were injured in the incident.
52 year old Stephen Brazeau of Greenfield Crescent in Whitby, is charged with: Threatening Bodily Harm and Possession of Weapons Dangerous. He was held for a bail hearing.
What an odd concept right- subdue the suspect without killing him or his neighbors/innocent bystanders.
This fool MMKM: Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Dude, it's great if the opportunity presents itself and it can be handled that way, but it shouldn't be a REQUIREMENT. Do you get that? Just because someone was successful with a taser in a given situation doesn't mean another police officer should be limited to a taser because it's possible to handle the situation that way. Possible doesn't mean probable. What if an officer had successfully tased someone with a gun before? I'm sure that has happened. No need for guns anymore? You have to taser criminals with guns because it has been accomplished in the past?
You all heard it here. Dondadda is for a level playing field for criminals. Criminal has a baseball bat the police officer can only use a baseball bat too. And if it's wood the police officer can't use aluminum, that would give him an unfair advantage. Then when he's getting his head beaten in, if he's conscious he can upgrade to his firearm but not a minute sooner.
:oldlol: Lunacy.

Bruh, take your meds and go to bed. Your L is still fresh, I know it burns. You'll feel better in the morning.
And btw I'd like to point out that this is yet another example of hypocritical Bullsh!t from Dondadda, because I'm sure that if he personally was being attacked by someone with a baseball bat and he was given the option of defending himself with either a taser or a gun, I'm really sure he would take his chances with the taser. Guess it's a lot easier to gamble when it's with someone else's money.

So? Good.
Dudes swingin bats at police, and we wanna taze them and let them go on and live the rest of their lives as menaces, constantly fukking things up for everyone around them? Constantly involving police in this? Constantly wasting society's resources?
Shoot to kill.

You're right, it's longer. I could step into a swing and hit someone 9 feet away.
