View Full Version : Suns/Jazz out of playoff race? Nuggs/Kings/Blazers in the mix?

with bledsoe out at least 2 months, suns are definitely lottery bound this year.

with burks out, the jazz will have a hard time holding onto the 8th seed.

Pelicans have been shit, but they still have a chance. however, they are behind the nuggs, kings and blazers in the standings. do you think any of the 3 teams mentioned will actually make the playoffs.

kings wouldnt come as much as a shock as the other two. seeing as most of us thought the nuggets and the blazers would be at the bottom of the barrel in league-wide standings

Jazz look like the team to beat as long as they are close when Rudy returns.

No way Jazz will hold on, even though I want them to. Love the Jazz, but they're missing 2 key players and isn't Favors banged up?

honestly, it looks like all teams but the lakers have a (long)shot. minny is just 3 games out from the 8th. it's definitey going to be a battle, and im guessing the healthiest team of those fighting for a spot will get it.

god... the west sure is don vito ugly right now.

Favors has back spasms. They've had one of the toughest schedules. As long as they are close when Rudy gets back they will be alright.

Jazz fans act like they are the only team who have struggled with injuries

Nurkic has yet to play, Chandler is out for the year, Mudiay has been out an month, Gallo a couple weeks as well

Have those guys carried their teams for the past year? Jazz are one of the worst teams in the league without Gobert. With him they are a tough match-up for anyone.

Well some things to note about the Suns.

Bledsoe out would mean we will be playing one PG instead of that wreck 2 PGs shit. This might be great for the backcourt balance, and a time for DBook to shine. We will get to see the Suns with a 'real' lineup.

Also, the Suns had fire 2 coaching staffs under Hornasag, holding him by the balls. But will coaching improve? it's to be observed.

Then hopefully the Suns get rid of Morris fast, he's a cancer and a distraction to the team. Team chemistry will definitely improve with his departure

fan of DBook too?
Kid's a smart player, with a very nice shooter's touch. Gonna be a deal in this league

Like Xiao said, the Jazz are the team to beat, injuries (to them and to others) and all. When Healthy, none of the other teams listed are better than the Jazz. They have the 8 seed now and a 2 loss advantage in whoever's next. Come February if the Jazz are anywhere close to the 8 seed, they'll man it with Burks and Gobert coming back.
I'm not saying it's impossible the Jazz don't make it, I'm just saying they're the favorite out of the group. The Suns are a mess right now, Nuggets aren't going anywhere this year, the Blazers and Kings will put up a good fight though, they could give the Jazz a run for their money

If say he'll be back around the All-star break. Whether before or after, I don't know

I think by early Feb. at the latest for Rudy. 4th easiest schedule the rest of the way too.

That doesn't sound too bad, but no more injuries please, the Jazz almost lost to the worst team of all-time missing 4 out of 5 of their best players (Exum, Burks, Favors, Gobert)

I'm not ready to rate Exum that high. He was historically bad offensively before his injury.

The Jazz are the only one out of this bunch who would give GSW some trouble. Kings are the most talented team but for some reason they don't seem to click, also the players don't compliment each other.

That doesnt sound like a team thats good enough to make the playoffs in the west if you ask me

They aren't. They are one of the worst teams in the league without him. They were tanking before he interrupted their plans last December. They still act like they're tanking. He's the only thing making them competititive. The front office would rather be in the lottery.

Is Cleveland a playoff team without Lebron? Kyrie and Love never won without him. OKC barely made it last year with Durant out. One guy makes a huge difference.

Maybe they'll quit calling Hayward and Favors their best players but I doubt it.

He was just getting a point across that teams suck and won't make the playoffs without their best player. They're comparable in that sense

Losing lebron is not the same as losing gobert. Just stop saying it. It sounds stupid. Otherwise you have lots of good points to make.

The two are not comparable as players, they just both happen to be the best players on their teams and their teams suck without them.

Who said it was the same? It's certainly comparable though. Cleveland and Minnesota with Kyrie and Love respectively both sucked. Jazz have sucked without Gobert. What is the problem?

Because it's not comparable and just takes away from any good points you do make.
