He's not. Dantley was one game from being the leading scorer on a championship team and possibly FMVP. He averaged 21 ppg on 57% in the 1988 finals. If Detroit wins game 7 Dantley is probably a consensus top 30 player all-time.

Sittin' here thinking the same thing. He'll never win a championship, he'll never be a guy who plays winning basketball, he's too inefficient to expect to carry a team to anything meaningful the way he plays. He's possibly a top 10 scoring small forward to play, but probably barely even the top 20 realm if we're talking about positive on-court impact.

Almost 90% of the guys mentioned in this thread so far are better all-time.
