How many votes would prime Kobe get?
Probably more than ever.
Huge reason why I have him as the greatest ever and better than guys like Hakeem and Michael Jordan.

What better than to see Kobe shit the bed in his last All Star Game? It could potentially destroy his legacy.
I feel bad that Kobe will have to put up with this, won't go so well

It's a testament of how great he is.
When Kobe gets DOUBLE the votes than the current best players in the league.
It also tells you how great prime Kobe is compared to the current best players.

You're right...there is nothing like a popularity contest to decide who is a greater basketball player...

Retirebe gets double the votes than Lebron.
Prime Kobe vs Prime Lebron....I think real basketball fans know who the great player is.
Imagine prime Kobe...he would get more votes than the entire starting 5, including Lebron.

Staple Center is sold out every game for a team that won only 5 games.
If Kobe wasn't on the team it would be dead there.
Kobe should get paid 40 million this year.

:lol Prime Kobe had less votes than Dwight Howard and Lebron.
He went a eight year period without being the leading vote leader.
He has lead three times while Michael Jordan lead like 9 times.

This.
Kobe is only getting these votes because he's retiring and fans want to give him a farewell.

He did things nobody else in the history of the game ever did.
you can say the same for Kobe (81, 40+ scoring months, scoring streaks) plus he won way more than Wilt and his competitive drive wasn't constantly in question. Kobe was also able to carry over his regular season averages into long playoff runs.
Wilt is known for his scoring, yet he never won shit as a scorer. He only won when he took a lesser role and played a team game. He couldn't dominate scoring wise while winning.
He never even won a ring while averaging more than 22ppg which is honestly pathetic considering how much he is remembered specifically for his scoring.
If you're going to constantly talk about a guy who has been dead for years, who lost waaay more than he won when it mattered and had so many chokes it's not even funny, then don't bitch when Kobe is the main conversation piece in his final year.
In Wilt's days the league had been around for what, 20 years? Segregation in the league was like 10 years old which means an entire generation of young black athletes were completely left out of ever competing in the NBA. We are talking about an era where half of the league had summer jobs because the NBA didn't pay enough. His most famous accomplishment (100 points) was a complete sham and a joke of a game. He himself was even embarrassed by that game.

What's new? Kobe Bryant has a legion of low iq fans who live their lives vicariously through his accomplishments.
Anyone who posts on this forum is aware of that.

Kobe is simply the Justin Bieber of the NBA.
So Kobe's gonna start instead of Kawhi or Draymond - what a mockery.

Honestly, this does nothing but show how stupid and boring NBA fans are and how boring and uninteresting the all star game is....which we already knew.
Time to scrap it tbh
What kind of fgt votes or Kobe or Kyrie? LMAO
Get a brain
He made mention this was his last season. So its obvious people would vote for him. They want to see him one last time in the All Star game. A meaningless exhibition. He gets the most votes then he just does. Not a big deal.
Game is boring to me which is why i rarely watch it or know who won the last contest. Why are people up in arms because casual fans want to see the guy one last time? Shit he had a packed house vs the Sixers days before he announced this was his final tour. You cant even give away free tickets now, but that Lakers game? Hottest ticket in town. Same idea with the AS game/voting.

If he'd have any shame left in him, probably should have decline.
That said, this is good for the NBA, but bad for basketball as a whole

both are explosive scorers.... you obviously want to see Kobe match-up against Wade and Bran and you want to see Kyrie cross someone over like he usually does...
it's uninteresting to you maybe because it's an exhibition game but fukkery goes down every year Kobe and Lebron play.

He sucks nowadays and shouldn't be anywhere near the All-Star Game because he's playing like a D-Leaguer, but fans want to see him for the last time in the ASG.

If ur a fan of Kobe (which obviously most of the world is seeing how he's packing the housr in road games and getting standind ovations) why would you have a melt down over a 20yr vet whos obviously on his last legs missing shots in a All Star game?
Then seen someone write that this game will ruin his legacy...What?.Jesus Christ you posters have no brain.:facepalm
