There hasn't been a single game all season where I thought to myself, "Spo outcoached ....fill in the blank.... tonight". Not one, and imo he's completely responsible for at least 3-4 losses and largely responsible for a few other. He's going to be the Heat's undoing. With a competent coach this team is probably 22-8, 23-7 right now.

Where has the so-called championship defense the Heat built gone? They scored more than enough points to win. If they were still holding teams in the low 90s, they'd be leading the East. But, if they don't solve this problem, they're gonna fall out of the playoffs.

Even in the big-3 era he was often a liability. Lebron gets a lot of flak for the 2011 finals, but Carlisle ran circles around Spo. When Lebron was struggling we had no offensive identity to fall back on. The offense that season was basically the two best players in the NBA taking turns. When the game slowed down and the Heat weren't able to get out and run, they struggled in the half court because there was not offensive system.

The other lingering issue is the lack of ability to defend the 3 point line. The Heat have given up 10+ 3's in 10 games this season. That's a recipe for disaster and completely unacceptable. Spo continues to be stubborn with his defensive philosophy of defending the paint. He just won't adapt, and for the life of me I can't understand why. The game has evolved and the 3 ball has killed the Heat time after time.
