Pretty much this. Those numbers are terrific all time numbers. I'm not sure what the point of this thread is?

26/8/7 on 47/38/88 are elite numbers.

That's only taking into consideration his hot first month of the season. Truthfully, if he averaged 26/8/7 for the season that would not be sub par, but actually a career best year for him.

I believe this is where the coaching staff wants his numbers with the assists up. Kerr is back so all that extra scoring is gonna be limited, imo. Plus they will continue to manage his minutes.

That's like player of the month type numbers. Just goes to show how ridiculous he was the first several weeks of the season.

These numbers are awesome. Just goes to show how ridiculous Lebron was in his 2010 season:

30 ppg, 8.5 apg, 7.5 rpg. We took that for granted.

Or MJ in 1989:

33.5 ppg, 8.0 apg, 8.0 rpg, 3 spg on 53%fg

He peaked in the first 20 or so games of the year. Just like Paul George.

He's fallen back down to earth now, and KD and Bron are still clearly way ahead of the pack.

I think that was OP's point. He set the bar so high to start the season that it actually appears like he's slumping, despite still putting up great numbers. Sometimes I think we take greatness for granted because we get accustomed to it.

Most under appreciated season of all time. Honestly I would love to see a team built around Kevin Durant. The current construction of OKC doesn't do his skill set justice.

The 3PT% is surprising. Damn good percentage for anyone else of course. Other than that, his stats in this stretch are still absurd. He's a high turnover player in general, so that's not out of the norm.

KD has clearly taken a lesser role this year. Not putting up as many shots (3 FGA down from that year, 20 vs 17). Also playing 35 minutes this season vs 38 minutes most other seasons. His FTA are also down 25% or so, which means he is attacking the basket less (part of taking less shots).

Those look like his stats from last year
