View Full Version : Replace Steph with Kyrie Irving.

I'm not sure much changes, imagine Kyrie with the spacing the Warriors have when they go small. He's nowhere near as deadly as Steph from 3 but he would be very respectable.
The biggest difference would be the playmaking, Steph has proven to be far better passer than Kyrie.
Any thoughts?
Kyrie is a better ball handler and finisher, i'm not sure by how much though.

LOL Kyrie is not even a top 10 PG
He's averaging like 13 points 3 assists this season
You know how many point guards are playing better so far this year?

Still not as idiotic as your daily rants in OTC

I mean, this isn't too far fetched with respect to the best Kyrie we've seen thus far. But dude, Kyrie just got back, he hasn't started to kill it yet, give it a moment.

Irving is awesome and has unlimited potential but Steph is currently the best player in the world, and has been playing at a level previously not seen in the history of the NBA for most of this season.

Sorry, but who the **** are you? I don't think i've ever spoken to or discussed anything with you on here, like ever. If you want to address the points i make in OTC, then you should do it there, instead of making petty, snide and worthless comments in a completely unrelated topic. If you're going to criticise someone, you should at least be a man about it, which means direct confrontation - so be specific, and challenge me on something; otherwise, you can just piss off, because you clearly aren't worth anyone's time.

I actually think Kyrie in 4 years at Steph's age could be an MVP, he's still very young and already incredibly good. He has similar tools to Steph but he's almost like a child-like version of Steph in that he's much less controlled and refined. The raw skills are there but the instincts to put it together aren't as mature to use them as effectively as Steph. 4-5 years from now at his peak as he figures things out more I think Kyrie's going to be a freak in his own right.
But he's just not Steph. No one is Steph. He's something we've never seen before and likely never will. His hand eye coordination, natural shooting touch and skill is otherworldly, and you combine that with his work ethic and crazy poise/calmness..and you get a GOAT tier offensive player.

Fully healthy no injuries Kyrie vs fully healthy no injuries Curry?
I'd say Curry is worth 10 to 12 more wins this year on the Warriors than Kyrie.

This is the problem with this board, a mod on this forum doesn't provide anything to the discussion. If you disagree with what I've stated provide a reason and so we can at least start a debate. I don't really think that there is much objectionable material in all honesty. I was trying to hypothesise what would be the result if Kyrie was on the Warriors. Would they still be championship contenders?, how many games would they win?
If you don't think this is a worthwhile thread, just don't comment and let it ride it's course.

the warriors whole offense works because opposing teams have to guard him all the way out at the three point line, at all times, drawing help defenders, leaving draymond open to pick out shooters, throw lobs, or score himself. its all started by steph's insane shooting ability.
if you replace that with a merely very good shooter, their whole offense changes. teams dont have to guard kyrie as tightly, less help defenders are drawn, and guys like barnes, iggy, ezeli, etc dont get easy looks.

Of course they'd still be contenders. They'd still have a top 5 defense with Kyrie...they just wouldn't have the best offense. I think they'd be around 5th or so offensively.
Like I said before...I think Curry is worth 10 to 12 more wins on this specific team.

It's that idiotic it's not worth a real response.
Kyrie is not close to Steph level and don't think he ever will be

People are giving you their opinion, they just don't think it's worthy of a discussion. The vast gulf between the two, in every stat, metric, proneness to injury, or whatever, leaves little else to be said. The fault is yours for making a topic in which all discussion is a superfluous waste of time. Next time think a bit harder before hitting the "create thread" button, and you won't have to worry about being mocked - are you trolling, or have you forgotten that the first five words in this thread from you were 'I'm not sure much changes?'
That comment only warrants a :facepalm

LOL he has played 86 minutes in 4 games. That's like saying that about someone the second week of the season after coming back from a season ending injury the previous year.

Yep Steph can barely get on the court at the moment and Kyrie is outplaying a top 10 GOAT in his prime.
I'm just joking, I realise this thread is kind of stupid. Kyrie is still underrated.

Curry on the Cavs means the Cavs 3-peat.
Bran would average between his current numbers and Dray numbers.
Currys numbers would remain the same.
Irving Warriors would lose in 6 to Dallas in 2nd round.

I think right now Westbrook/Curry have separated themselves from the rest. But Kyrie can get up to their level when he is having one of those insane scoring performances, though how often can he keep it up? Consistency is the difference between them. And that goes for staying on the court as well.
