It was a horrible mistake. But the second the guy tells the cops his daughter is in the car he relays it to the K-9 cop but it was too late. The department promptly agreed to pay off the man. The cops treated the man with respect the whole time. Perhaps the should have just talked to the guy first considering the suspect was black, not latino. But since it was an armed robbery they were being overly cautious.

Everyone makes mistakes, even cops. There was no malice at all by the police in this instance. Maybe they could have paid off the guy more than $13000 though.
