2/10
anyone who gave this > 5/10 should be banned from giving an opinion on anything the rest of their life :facepalm
holy shit i had no idea QT could make a movie this mind numbingly boring :biggums:
3/4s of the movie is benign uninteresting dialogue carried by villainizing racist whitie of those days with politically incorrect uses of the N word to justify the cruel retribution against those racists at the end....a la Django theme
i sat thru this thing from 30 min's in wanting to leave but stayed assuming something worthwhile would happen sooner or later. its seriously 95% extremely boring dialogue being drawn out for 5% of a very average , almost predictable climax :sleeping
the audience was dead throughout. some people left with about 30 minutes left and i just thought 'them lucky bastards' while i was imprisoned by my sliver of hope that QT couldnt possibly make a movie this terrible and something worthwhile would happen. i have lost so much respect for QT, first Django and then this horrible waste of time :banghead:
i cannot even fathom someone liking this movie its so goddamn uninterestingly slow and boring. i dont say this lightly but its damn near THE worst movie ive ever sat thru :coleman:

i mean considering it was 95% pointless dialogue id have to guess u liked the dialogue....but i truly wonder which parts specifically :coleman:
i swear it was so uninteresting and unwitty, like a complete fail from Pulp Fiction quality small talk.

I've not loved a QT film since Pulp Fiction, but it's so obvious that what made QT's films post Pulp so revered was their editing.
Since Sally Menke died Tarantino has released two films (Django, Hateful 8), and both of them are edited in such a lazy, uninspired way that they become complete bore-fests. It's all very cut-and-paste, with an occasional hard-cut that seems forced.
Basterds isn't a particularly good movie either but the bar scene with Fassbender and the Nazis is one of the best edited scenes I've ever seen. With Raskin's editing that scene would have been completely forgettable.
Rant over.

3/4s of the movie is a drawn out stage ride.
filled with benign dialogue like "you're that general from blah blah", "you're that guy from blah blah blah", "you're that other general from blah"
"you that nikker"
"i hate nikkers"
"this nikker"
i think that summarizes the whole script/movie :oldlol:

i'd also LOOOVE for someone to point out any wit or anything remotely interesting in the dialogue or script. the lincoln letter? :oldlol: god that was such a try hard to be clever dialogue device :facepalm had elements of the briefcase in Pulp but missed at being anything redeeming to the movie completely.
i wish ISH had capabilities we could go segment by segment so i could tear this awful movie up. i'd swear nobody on ISH could honestly stick up for it with it all in plain view. at the least they might realize how bad their opinion is on shit :pimp:

I still loved Django and Hateful 8, but they were the bottom of the barrel as far as QT films (still making them better than 90% of the other films out there). I hope you are wrong as to why these last 2 weren't quite as good, because I'm still hoping for another QT masterpiece.

Says the guy calling this movie one of the worst movies he has ever paid for and giving it a 2/10 (you previously gave it a 0.5/10 in another thread). If you can't see how beautifully shot this film is, see originality, see that the movie unfolds as a mystery rather than the standard 'predictable good guy will win', and see that it uses dark humor very well, then you have terrible taste in critiquing film. We get it, you are too impatient and ADHD to enjoy this movie, but to claim it is so bad because you were bored and act like your opinion is objective is just absurd.

What is with your dumbass made up stats to support your bullshit argument? People absolutely care about how a movie looks. And it isn't just a mystery with a reveal at the end, as you simply this movie to be. As I said, it is about watching it unfold. Even the end has a powerful message about justice, which I imagine you have no idea which message I am even referring to, because you stopped paying attention and started day dreaming about other movies before the film concluded because you have the attention span of a child.
Your complaints about cinematic shots that go a long time are hilarious btw. You talk about appreciating past movies, which were famous for that style of shot, yet somehow you are bored out of your mind when a modern movie does it. Talk about dishonest positivity versus dishonest negativity.

Maybe not worst movie of the year, but it's Tarantino's worst imo. I enjoyed the score a lot and the last chapter was good or maybe it just seemed good cause the 2 hours that preceded it were sleep inducing. Dialogue was so poor.

Tarantino definitely has a racial complex that is becoming more apparent with each film his makes. Maybe it's just extreme white guilt.
He needs to make more films like Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction, and fewer ones like Django Unchained and Hateful Eight.

he's more politically incorrect than racist. if anything he uses it to be shocking and to make the audience despise some characters. so when they get their head shot off or hung, the more violent the better, and the more justifiably satisfying to the audience.
its a pretty cheap trick tbh. especially considering he's used it in that way redundantly between Django and Hateful8.

no movies that take place in those periods that aren't a QT film uses the N word close to the amount of times or in the way his movies do....
its obvious he uses that often to turn the audience against the 'racists'. even in pulp the butt fukking rednecks getting their due is based around the same play.

thats true and thats typical QT style. to make the bad guy good but very imperfect.
still doesn't mean he doesn't use the N word to make the audience hate a lot of characters which reinforces their satisfaction when they die violently.
