View Full Version : Westbrook quietly dominating

Don't see anyone talking about WB but he is having his best season yet, averaging 26/9/7/2.6 on 47/30/83% shooting. 4th in league in scoring, 3rd in assists, 1st in steals, 1st in rebounds among PGs AND in turnovers.

He is doing it all at an elite level, only issue is lazy defense and turnovers, which have gotten better lately. He usually starts out the season slow then gets better post all-star break but he is going hard 24/7 now.

Curry is the best player in the league, but Westbrook has been right up there with him.

the second-best player in the NBA. I've been saying it since the Pelicans game.

He is basically a mini 2009-2010 Lebron, plays with the same motor and aggression.

Westbrook is quietly having really great season. Westbrook is easily having the best season for any PG outside of Curry.

The problem with Westbrook is he is a wild player, his kind of play isn't conducive to winning chips, as good individually he may be.

Also he has a woeful vertical leap that really holds him from becoming the player he wishes he could be.

How is he only 30% from 3? Every time I've watched him this season he's been killing it from outside

He has been more under control this season, haven't seen that many retarded pull up 3s on the fastbreak. He is actually posting up smaller guards and punishing them in the paint, and even when he misses, because of all the help he draws Ibaka/Kanter are right up there for the easy rebound+score.

At least give credit to Westbrook's work ethic, he couldn't even dunk until senior year of high school, his POVERTY 36.5 vertical was achieved through countless years of sweat, blood and tears in the gym. Not everyone is born with mutant arms, physical gifts and wingspan *cough* Rondo *cough*, some people have to actually work on their verticals. Just look at Westbrook's childhood, POVERTY breeds POVERTY vertical. You are ignorant for shaming him for it.

true that, nah i actually like Westbrook, he doesn't have tatoos or any of this stupid business, hes all about the game. He clearly has a 40 + inch vert atm so I always troll about his outdated draft express profile. And it also annoys me him and Durant are going to waste in OKC, I think they need to call it quits and split up and both players should go to a team where they will build solely around them.

Here's how I read the OP:

1) Mini-Jordan has a 31 PER, which is the same as the actual Jordan did for 4 years straight, except the actual MJ didn't play in the optimal 3-and-D shot allocation system that today's teams use (3-pointers, layups, FT's), which maximizes efficiency and PER.

2) Kawhi Leonard is 3rd in real plus-minus and FAR ahead of Lebron, which means MJ would do even better, since Popovich said MJ is the standard for 2-way play and Kawhi isn't Jordan:

"(Kawhi) has the ability to do what a Michael Jordan did at both ends, and I don’t mean he’s Michael Jordan,” Popovich said. “But you think about the best players in the league, they’re not two-way players. He wants to do that.”

His turn overs and bad shot selection are still there; limiting his impact on the team.

Goatbrook has minimized his chuckbrook moments this year, they're still there but fewer and farther apart
