Lakers in '86 would come to mind. No way they'd be the favorites come playoff time

Last year with Durant being hurt OKC was not considered a legit title contender based on the difficulty of the western conference. KD and Brooke arguably top 5 in nba last year.

Penny wasn't a top 5 player

Majority of GM's according to GM polls had the Laker's as the title favorites in 2011.

So the 2011 Heat might count.

Probably the first year Pippen joined the Bulls.

Was Kareem still a top 5 player in '86 though?

Healthy OKC would beat the Warriors in the playoffs

It'd be debatable, dude did make All-NBA First Team and finished 5th in MVP voting, and was still scoring over 25 ppg in the playoffs.

The West/Baylor Lakers would have to be considered as well

A bunch of teams have had two Top 5 players...

2014 Clippers for example.

That's a good, recent one I didn't think of. You could definitely argue CP3 and Griffin were top 5 talents.

Not with that supporting cast and coaching they wouldn't

Probably not, but stranger things have happened.

It would not be a monumental upset for a healthy WB/Durant led OKC team to beat the Warriors in a series.

I don't care if OKC has 2 top 5 players. The Warriors and Spurs are on a completely different level as a TEAM.

They have been so far, but in one series when you have Durant/WB...they can get hot and take over and alter the odds quickly.

Also, the Thunder are really playing better after the rough start. Their defense continues to improve.

While it probably maxes out at like 10th or so....that improvement, if it's real, will make a big difference in the playoffs.

A full 100% healthy OKC would be dismantled by the Warriors. Spurs are the only team out west we fear.

Based on what? All the challenging teams the Warriors dismantled in the playoffs last year?

Or the teams they have beaten up this season? I notice, no Spurs or OKC on that schedule this year. Durant gives them fits, not to mention Westbrook dropping a crazy triple double on them the last time they played. Can't wait

It wasnt they who chocked it was him (Lebron) who chocked. if not Wade would of had his 2nd finals MVP.

Problem is Warriors have two Top 5 players too, with Curry and Draymond. On top of a better bench, coach, role players, defense and offense. :confusedshrug:

They can play the games, but 90 times out of 100 they would lose. It's like a heavyweight fighting a middleweight, hoping for that 10% makes no sense. Especially in a 7 game series, Durant/Westbrook aren't gonna just beat a championship team by themselves.

The Warriors are a better team, of course, but I doubt the Thunder are rolling at a 10% win rate fully healthy in a series.

OKC hasn't looked that good vs elite teams this year, they are just feasting on below .500 teams atm, 8-8 vs above .500 team so far. 10% is being generous, Warriors are a juggernaut, OKC are just 2 people with bunch of scrubs around them.
