Chicago Bulls swingman Jimmy Butler set a franchise record for points in a half during Sunday's 115-113 win over the Toronto Raptors. He scored 40 of his 42 points in the second half to top Michael Jordan's 39, a feat that came in the second half against the Milwaukee Bucks on Feb. 16, 1989.

It's jameer, he can barely construct a sentence, do you think he can subtract numbers above 5?
Giving way too much credit for him, mate

Not only that, but am I the only one that finds it disturbing that he has an avatar of a 9-10 year old girl?

thats really not amazing

kobes done 55 in a half and dropped nearly 50 in one half vs jordan himself

so kobes +15 on MJ after 2

and +20 on MJ after regulation 4 quarters ( 81 - 61 )

:oldlol:

not to mention his 62 in three quarters vs dallas that also beat jordans regulation record

That's what Jordan would be if he's playing in this era, but with less range than Jimmy Buckets. Fact.

Anyone know of a way I could rewatch the Bulls vs raptors game from earlier today? Other than buying NBA league pass?

I almost thought he scored 40 in the first and did 2 in the second...What a game.

Could be the best SG.

yeah. Jordan would be putting up 30+ a half on a regular basis.

Buckets only needs a bit more consistency and he will be at superstar level. He has 1 dud game a week though. Needs to drop 20+ every game and will be a top 10 player with his defensive prowess and reb/assist abilities.

yeah and jordans +5 in playoff shots per game and +3 in playoff free throws per game

and when youre the most popular player in the world with no other stand out rival in a crap era. youre bound to win multiple mvps

and kobe would be finals mvp in all of his titles if he had the 90s bulls roster behind him aswell... they won with defense and mike could chuck away with no regard for team chemistry

the difference between Kobe and mikes big moments is that kobe never had the opportunities mike did

however... jordan did have plenty of opportunities to do what kobe did

infact... i'd say jordan had 13 seasons to do whatever he wanted offensively

kobe only had 2

Jordan PPS in playoffs: 1.33
Kobe PPS in playoffs: 1.25

If Kobe took as many shots as Jordan did, it's unlikely his percentage would not at least decline slightly.

EFG% removes FTs from the equation.

Jordan playoff EFG%: 50.3
Kobe: 48.0

40 is amazing either way you slice it.

Honestly you need to take Kobe's name out of your mouth, and quit comparing him to Jordan. He's not better than MJ nor will he ever be. You bringing him up out of nowhere, like what 3ball does with Jordan, does him, his fans, and the quality of discussion here a disservice.

This thread is celebrating Jimmy B's big game. Drop the 3ball "derail" facade.

do you realize that if kobe got fouled on 2-3 more shots its not only more points without more shots. but it also retracts those missed opportunities

Kobe was probably a better "in the zone" scorer because of his range, although his consistency and playoff scoring never matched what Jordan routinely perfected. MJ was sustained excellence (look at the scoring records) whereas Kobe left a lot on the table, and let defenses off the hook.

Again though, this isn't the thread to have another Kobe and Jordan comparison. Make a new topic about your creepy fetish. :oldlol:
