View Full Version : Why is Obama deporting illegals?

Obviously I'm not complaining about it.
But my question is why is he doing it?
Is it a useful step for America?
Or does it serve a political purpose for Democrats?
What do yall think?

Well Democrats keep telling me we shouldnt. :confusedshrug:
This is obviously a very left-leaning board overall, I'm wondering if people here think he wants illegals deported because it's the best thing for this country, or if they think there is some sort of political motivation.
I applaud the move, personally. It's an unfortunate situation since many who came here illegally are good people overall. But that's not the way theh process works, and it isnt fair to citizens.
Im just wondering if Dada, Kevcuck, Deuce, etc think Barry's doin the wrong thing, if they think it's political, etc.

Why do people invoke my name and then think it's going to end well for them? :lol
Here's a little homework assignment for you that may help you answer your own question- 1) What is the difference between removals and returns in deportation policy? 2) What is the trend of those 2 distinctions the past 15-20 years? 3) What percentage of these deportations are people that were legally deemed National security threats or had previous criminal records? 4) What percentage of these deportations occurred at/near the border?
That should clear things up for you.

But in the thread where you blamed Reaganomics for wealth inequality, you also said deportations of illegals coincide with an increase in the wealth gap.
Here's the link. (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=392855&page=25)
You blamed wealth inequality on Reaganomics and deporting illegals.
But Obama has deported more illegals than any President in history. And the wealth gap has grown under his economic policy (which is totes different than Reaganomics, I'm told).
What's goin on? Don, what is ya boy doin!?

Like I said, do your homework.
60% of removals are people who had prior criminal convictions and who couldn't get work either way. Of the remaining 40%, 84% of those are detained at the border... So they were in the country for a few hours tops.
So the people being deported are criminals and people caught at the border.
If you went with Trump's plan of deporting 11 million+ illegals, that would lead to an economic depression per several economists.
Sauces:
A 2015 study by the American Action Forum, a conservative pro-immigration group, estimates the federal government would have to spend roughly $400 billion to $600 billion to deport 11.3 million undocumented immigrants and prevent future unlawful entry into the U.S. over a 20 year time period.
In order to implement the plan, the study says, each immigrant would have to be apprehended, detained, legally processed, and transported to his or her home country.
Mass deportation will burden the economy, the report goes on. Removing all undocumented immigrants would cause the labor force to shrink by 6.4%. As a result, 20 years from now the economy would be nearly 6% or $1.6 trillion smaller than it would be if the immigrants are allowed to stay.
While this impact would be found throughout the economy, the agriculture, construction, retail and hospitality sectors would be especially strongly affected, the report indicates.

The funny thing is that illegal immigration has had its worst economic effects on blacks.
The companies that illegal immigrants help prop up are the ones owned by rich white people, and invested in by middle class white people.
The people hurt by it are the ones who have to compete with them for wage jobs (which the drives wages down). Which is a large percentage of black folks. Obviously they still can and do get welfare, but it would be better for their whole culture if they'd have just been able to work those jobs and stand firm for better wages. Also would have decreased the wealth gap significantly.
So I guess while Democrats think they're siding with the first underdog they see in the issue (immigrants, as opposed to largely white conservatives who oppose them) they don't seem to have the sort of analytical ability to look deeper into it and understand whom it's really benefiting and why.

Of course the economy would take a hit if you deport them all at once. Which isn't in any way realistic anyhow.
But you agree that the influx of illegals has had a huge impact on keeping wages low and the wealth gap increasing, yes?
Not at all and there's absolutely no evidence to suggest this. if you can find it, let me know.

:biggums:
It's simple supply and demand economics.
Why do you think salaries for doctors are high? Because few people are qualified to be doctors. If there is 1 doctor for every 100 patients, prices go up. If there are 100 doctors for every 100 patients, prices go down.
If there are 200 million people to work construction, plant crops, work in hotels... Then you add another 100 million people to the job pool, the wages go down.
Like I don't understand why you resist acknowledging this simple economic principle. Looks extremely partisan. Son I am disappoint.

Bruh, do you have any evidence of immigrants causing wages to stagnate or the income gap to grow? Simple yes or know.
I'm not interested in theories.

Wage rates and wealth inequality can't be 'proved' to be attributed to any one thing with charts because of all the variables involved. We went over this when I demonstrated Presidential deaths in office coincided for 120 years with an Indian curse. Neither of us can PROVE anything. It's just exercising some simple logic. The economic principle of supply and demand is pretty well known.

Pure comedy that you think Presidents' deaths info is comparable to a vast amount of economic data dating back to the Civil War.

Yes, and people who actually study economics and have the data I mentioned do not reach your conclusions. Go figure.

If the population has an influx of migrants, they will either go straight to the welfare or be competing for low skill jobs.
The ones who will be effected most will be the low skilled workers, businesses will look to exploit the cost savings of employing migrants, many will be employed around the loopholes of the law.
You don't need proof to know that. Undercutting is a part of business these days. Outsourcing is the other big killer to workers worldwide, where privatised businesses undercut legit, safety conscious companies and jeopardise safety of the workers and the customers, but bosses only look at the bottom dollar.

Bro the Indian Curse dated from Kennedy back to the Civil War as well. It's a pretty solid sample size. Don't doubt the Indian curse brah. Data backs it up.
The rest of what you said is just dodging. A large labor supply decreases wages. It's well known. Everyone reading this right now knows it. You're simply being partisan. Oh well.
