In this world, nothing stays the same. Everything has to change and it eventually changes.
After a certain time, people get tired of seeing the same thing over and over again. They need to see a change, otherwise they get tired of it.
Those crying about how great 90's rules/style of play, etc/ were... MOVE ON!
If they didn't change the rules, the style of play, now you would be complaining for a change.
Right now, it's the 3 points era, small ball era, etc. and it will change. And you will have some people crying about how great it was and all. And those peoplew will suffer like the nostalgic 90's fans. Those who moves on will get enjoy the new style of play.
This concept applies to everything.
