TBH, no. He can be a good role player to Jimmy Bucket's Bulls if he forget his ego of being the man. He's still a good point guard and there will be games where his old self will show up. Hope he's healthy for the playoffs.

No. His career trajectory is going in a divergent path from Jimmy Butler, who alone will preclude serious MVP considerations for Rose.

Even in his best and incidentally MVP season (2010-11), his MVP was a snub. Tom Thibodeau was much more contributive to the Bulls' 62-win season than Rose's improvement, but he was given it anyway due to being the clear-cut leader of the league-best team and because LeBron's Heat started off too slow for him to get traction for the award early on.

How delusional do you have to be to even ask that?

if his shot % goes up to about 45% on a consistent basis, he will be at least an AS again.

It should have been Dwight Howard anyway. Lebron had no business being in the discussion when he was playing with Wade who was putting up similar production and was a top 5 player in the league.

No way.

He`s a role player atm, and his elite athleticism is more or less gone. And he`s always been pretty low on efficiency.

I don`t se him able nor in the role that allows him to get to MVP-level ever again.

I'm goint to go out on a limb and say NO!!! This isn't even a reasonable question to be honest. If anything, Jimmy Buckets will probably be considered an MVP candidate before Rose will be.

not true at all. Derrick Rose was the offense of the team. No one on that bulls team could score on their own.

the team completely fell apart and got knocked out by the sixers when Derrick Rose got injured that series which proves how important he was. tom thibodeau's overrated and couldn't coach his way out of it.

No, but If he wanted to he could. it would be a stupid decision to go all out in a regular season after 3 knee injuries just to be considered for a reward. Save it for important games in the regular season and in the post season, which is what he has been doing.

I notice it took Gallanari, Rondo and others a few years to get back to their old self after ACL injury.

Wait, are we still throwing shade at Rose now? Have people not been noticing his improved play lately? He's probably never gonna be in MVP talks, but he's starting to look like D-Rose again. Him and butler are starting to look like a very scary backcourt combo

Go back and watch his MVP highlights from 2011

He is not the same player at all

Just look at his face he looks like hes aged 10+ years

hes still about 85-90 percent of what he use to be. and hes alot better play maker and play making oriented. that was really what was going to make him a better player after 2011 without the injuries, if he could become a better play maker.

You are off there. Thibes never had an offensive game plan outside of give it to Rose. That was a team that couldn't break a trap offensively. Have you wondered why no team has picked up Thibes? Rose had to adapt to a whole lot of changes that year as well with all of the injuries.

Rose's stats this season are pretty much the worst of his career across the board. Even his FT% is lower than ever.

Rose seems bored against bad teams.

He gets motivated when playing great players/teams.

Game is too easy for him.

15ppg on 43%

With almost as many turnovers as he has assists

3.5apg to his 3.0tpg

How did this thread get to page 3?

I love Rose.. His All-Star intro with the Miami big 3 dancing and looking stupid is one of the best things I've ever seen. As well as his quickness before the injuries

But he'll never win another MVP. Of course he won't. Who would after all the injuries he's had?

He's never really been and never will be a serious MVP candidate. Whenever he was considered a 'candidate' i always felt it was some kind of joke or token gesture to help Bulls fans feel better about their perpetual post-MJ irrelevancy.
