Anyways, OP is a dumbass. Wade transitioning to more of an off-ball role was what allowed the Heat offense to evolve beyond 'my turn, your turn' offense in 2011, along with Bosh transitioning to a spot-up shooter.

Dragic was a 36% three point shooter coming into this year. He had a 41% season his last full year with the Suns and shot 76% from the charity stripe.

He's been shooting 47% from 3 in the last 6 games and 25% before that. He's still under 30% for the season and only at 71% from FT.

Dragic game has been affected by thinking too much. Learning to actually play team-ball instead of iso-ball. He's pondering of when to pass, when to shoot, when to drive, etc. His instincts of what the system asks of him is slowly appearing more and more. If he can consistently shoot near 40% from 3 and run the break like how he usually does, the Heat will be content.

Wade's off-ball game is fine. He's just not a 3 point shooter so that limits his game a bit. He's one of the best off-ball cutters in the league and that's all is really asked of him off-ball-wise. I'm really excited for the Heat post all-star break.

Look how much Wade marginalized LeBron in the Heat

He made LeBron drop his scoring from 27, to 17 in the finals in 2011 cause Wade couldn't adapt and play off-ball

Dubeta, I like you but you are acting insanely idiotic right now. Did you read your freaking thread title? You said that Wade NEVER developed an off-ball game. Perhaps he didn't have the best one back in 2011 (although he did have one), but to say he never did is something only you would say. Anyone can make a couple minutes of footage? Okay, how about this then...

Stop acting so idiotically ignorant, you never say anything positive on here about anyone other than LeBron, you're just a buzzkill. Admittedly you are humorous at times, but this is just stupid. And why do you criticize me for showing a few minutes of video only turn around and display 6 games as your evidence whereas LeBron averaged 26 ppg during the regular season and 24 ppg in the playoffs that year? Apparently he could score those points, but he didn't, because he was a mental midget that series.

My bad if I offended you bro, just calling BS when I see it. You do realize you could avoid a lot of this if you can just at least say that Wade is decent off-ball right? We can compromise, but if you like this type of contention, that's on you

Wade definitely made serious strides in his off-ball game after LeBron took the reigns. His weak shot may sometimes make it seem otherwise, so but in reality he's one of the few ex-stars who, as he aged (and when he was healthy) showed a lot of ability off-ball IMO, and it never felt to me like he became disengaged from games due to no longer being the focal point.

if you watched him in college, you'd see that he's always known how to play off ball. when he got to the nba, the gameplan has always been to put the ball in his hands to create, except for the bron years. thats why it was an easy transition to go back to playing off ball.

on the other hand, if you ask lebron to play off ball, he'd have no *ucking clue what to do. look at the 2011 finals for example. wade was in a groove with the ball in his hands. if lebron had just an ounce of off ball game, they win the finals. instead, bron was lost and just checked out. all because the ball was no longer primarily in his hands.

so the next season on, wade made the sacrifice because, between the two, only he had the ability to adjust. lebron only knows one way to play.

now the ball is primarily back in wade's hands and i think thats a bit of a mistake. for one, he's too old to carry the load game after game. two, dragic suffers from the same inability that bron does, which is being kinda useless without the ball. put the ball in his hands more and you maximize his worth while still getting good production from wade.

Wade has been one of the best off-ball players in the league since 2012. Look at his gravity numbers. He's an outstanding cutter and has great instincts finding the soft spots in the defense. Then again OP claims Larry Bird, arguably the greatest off-ball player ever, had no off-ball game. I'd love for OP to give his definition of off-ball. It would instantly go into the "dumbest things said on ish" thread.

I'm curious too...tell me someone better at slashing to the basket with more athleticism and skill than he has had? Wade has pretty easily been the best slasher in the league during his era...so who is better before him? There really isn't anyone you can name with his mix of athleticism, talent, and skill that has been better at getting to the basket. And no...this isn't me being "stan"...I'm a fan, not a stan. He's only my 3rd favorite player all time after Pip and Ray. He's just easily the best the off dribble player the last 20 years, period.

I would say Top 3 would be MJ,Wade and AI. Then you have guys like LeBron,TMac,Drexler and Worthy who aren't far behind, but to me MJ is the GOAT slasher and Wade is 2nd.

EDIT: Maybe even pre-injury Grant Hill

Wade and young MJ are the most relentless rim attackers the game has ever seen. In addition to the abilities you mentioned, it's a mind set. Pat Riley has talked about it. When Wade entered the league, Riley said he'd never seen a player who was more determined to get to the rim every time he touched the ball. Riley also talked about Wade's intelligence in understanding how to probe and manipulate a defense. The cerebral aspect of being an effective slasher is highly underrated, and that was/is one of Wade's biggest strengths.
