Winter is depressing. Investor confidence is lower. Slow time of the year due to holidays.

The market has sucked since the end of September in my opinion. Biotech got wrecked and energy is destroyed at this point. Some are going to be very rich determining the bottom of the dying energy stocks though, hopefully me.

No it doesn't, you're just making yourself believe there's a trend

If stocks consistently underperformed in January, then its an arbitrage opportunity to sell stocks in December, and buying it back in January for lower

Kids these days :facepalm

Individual investors sell stock to pay for the holiday bills. It's also an incredibly slight dip, and not across the market. Most retail companies have very strong prices in January due to high sales.

The Stock Market is ****ed peeps.

Be careful with yo monies. We are due a big recession.

Either that, or in a years time we've got negative interest rates and another (bigger) round of QE.

Probably because everybody spent their money on Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. right before. Winter may also keep people inside more, thus spending less.
