Feel free to list more than one if you can't decide on one. Just don't go overboard...

Sure. Depends what you mean by "rock" tho. Derka posted a traditional rock album.

Havent listened to it, but I heard a big uproar about it.....ima have to listen to it soon

Well, the album I posted is progressive rock/metal and it's pretty good if the theme doesn't bother you.

To Pimp a Butterfly and Pusha T's Darkest before Dawn album were my favorite last year. I really liked Logic's new album too. 2015 was a pretty damn good year for Hip Hop

There's been a lot of really interesting metal albums last few years.
Probably Ego Death tbh. Really surprised me with the progression from the previous projects
WOW. hell of a sound these guys got. im a sucker for that jazzy sound. I miss those 90s jazz samples in hip hop so much too.

First off, I'm not a big metal guy. Probably one of my least favorite genres. But because I'm a music freak I have still heard and gone thru a ton of it. From Sabbath to Iron Maiden to Kyuss to Opeth I've enjoyed some of it too.
I think the last few years there's been some albums which I'd say are on the boundary of what is metal. There was that whole controversial "blackgaze" sound that started some years ago. Particularly with bands like Deafheaven and Alcest:
Deafheaven - New Bermuda (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iezyTjg-8iY)
Deafheaven - Sunbather (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfbLWHT7vUU)
