View Full Version : Marine Corps boot camp, job titles to be gender neutral by April

The Marine Corps has been ordered to come up with a plan to make its enlisted entry-level training coed, and to make its job titles more gender-neutral following the recent move to open all military combat roles to women.

In a Jan. 1 memo to Marine Commandant Gen. Robert Neller, Navy Secretary Ray Mabus requested a "detailed plan" on how the service will fully integrate its boot camp and Officer Candidate School. The plan is due Jan. 15 and will be implemented by April 1, the memo states.

"The Department of the Navy's implementation plan must include gender integration of Marine Corps enlisted recruit training and officer candidate school," Mabus wrote. "In this submission, identify where, if anywhere, this training is already integrated, where it is separate, and specific steps that you will take to fully integrate these trainings."

In a second memo from Mabus to Neller on the same day, the SecNav directed the Marine Corps to conduct a full review of its military occupational specialty titles in an effort to ensure that they are gender neutral.

First off, lol at making job titles gender neutral. I guess if you are a female, and it really makes you that upset, and you feel the need to complain about it, whatever.

On a serious note though, once male and female recruits begin training together...

~Which physical fitness test will they use, the male or the female version? Since they are now one and the same, both genders should use the same. Equality and all that, so either the males are going to be laughing the whole time, or the females won't be able to pass the test.

~Which height and weight standards will they use? Good luck to all the females who are slightly heavy, because if you are barely skating by the female height/weight standards, you sure as shit aren't passing the male's standards. So again, either we are going to have fewer females, or fat males.

~Obviously things will get weird, sleeping and showering with the opposite sex. Equality says males and females now should sleep in the same shitty barracks and use the same shitty bathrooms (the female barracks were much nicer when I was there). So whose bathroom's and whose squad bay's are they going to use? When I was deployed, when we were on base, we were crammed 12 men to a room. The females had their own room, which was the same size, but only three females were in there. Bet they're going to be pissed now that their luxury ride is over.

2016... Where our military is more interested in fighting political correctness than ISIS.

And for the record (because I know a few of you tried to make shit up about my point of view on this), if a female wants to join a male unit, with a male dominated MOS, and live and be one of the guys, that's fine. I have no problem with it. But to lower the standards to allow them to do so is not only putting our military efficiency at risk, but it puts peoples lives at risk. As I said before, I served with female Marines who did the same job I did, and they did just fine. But, they were also not giant ******* (think bull dikes).

If I had to go into combat with a Marine who was only there because they have a ******, or if I had to go into a fire next to a firefighter who is only there cause of their skin color... I'd be pissed.

Allow females in, don't lower the standards.

Never thought the military would bow down to this gender neutrality bs.

It's a first world thing I guess. We have so many losers in this country who have absolutely no purpose or value in their life, and these are the sorts of things they go after to make themselves into warriors.

They can't fight in battle, they can't fight in the business world, they can't fight in the intellectual world.

They fight for the semantics of 'social justice.' It bonds them, it passes time, it gives them some kind of feeling of significance and superiority over others.

It's ALL they're capable of. Everything else is way too intimidating for the limp-wristed.

It's a shame we have so many politicians willing to leverage these geeks for their own gain.

Never thought the military would bow down to this gender neutrality bs.

I remember a few years ago when submarines were made to be gender neutral... Females wanted to work on nuclear submarines. Ok, I'm cool with that...

But the problem was, now these subs had to be re-designed, and the cramped spaces became even more cramped, because now these females had to have their own sleeping quarters, and own bathrooms.

If I went to an all girls college, I wouldn't demand they give me my own bathroom and sleeping quarters. Not only would I be perfectly cool with showering and living with women, but I wouldn't want special treatment.

But, apparently, these women don't feel the same. They want to be included, but treated like they're special. So equal, but, not. That's their idea of equality.

It's ridiculous. I agree with you on that condition: if they want to fight side by side with men, they need to meet the same requirements. I know for a fact that the "normal" bf% of a man is a lot less (somewhere around~16ish) whereareas a woman's "normal" bf% is much higher, and if a male were to have that normal bf%, he'd be borderline obese.

There's obvious physiological differences for a reason.

ooooo the flex arm hang is coming back!

That's the question... Do males do the flex arm hang, or do females do pull-ups?

And if so, what is the min. requirement to pass? Whatever it is, it better be the same for males and females.

Like I said, my corps is about to get super easy, or its about to be all male, one of the two.

On top of that... females need to shave their heads upon arrival to MCRDPI. Part of the bonding process is everyone needs to look like everyone else, so there are no individuals.

Can't wait to see our GI Janes.

:facepalm whoever is doing this to the military needs to seriously get their ass kicked..HARD!

Those women on subs, guess what they were getting train ****ed by the men. I got this from a guy that serves on subs. It's a bunch of BS. Men in the military are not thrilled about this.

I served in the Air Force and did my basic at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio. We were separated into squadrons. Normally two squadrons were paired. Usually same sex. My squadron just happened to be paired with a female squadron. Believe me us guys were happy. Basic is like a prison but guys and gals still found the time to mess around some how.

And therein lies the problem. The military has been the last haven for the weak minded, lowly educated part of our population to get a job where they demand respect. However, people at the top of the defense team are not similar to the idiots that make up the recruits/major manpower.

In general people of low education have outdated mentalities about life and their place in it. Women deserve to be treated with respect and given a chance at life. It's the only way they'll stop being so crazy. Women r all sorts of crazy. The funny thing is that almost all women DON'T want to do this sort of stuff. Almost all women are against "feminists". However, all they want is stuff to be fair and for them to have a chance to do whatever they want work/etc wise.

Trying to keep women, races, etc out of an industry etc is sooooooo backwards. People will naturally gravitate to what they can handle and where they feel comfortable.

We don't really even need a military. We have enough tech to rule the world from a computer screen. So the less macho our crew acts the better for our country. If we ever really wanted to do some damage all we'd need is about 15 hours to decimate most of the modern population of the entire world. 95% of our stuff is drills - there is ZERO reason both women and men can't handle "practice". If something real were to break out then the most qualified (prolly 90% men, 10% women) would be the ones to be handling bidness.

Also, we (Gen X) talks a big game but very few of us are actually joining the military etc...so to stop people (even if they are women) from joining is so short sighted.

Problem with that is, opportunity for men decreases. Less men will be able to provide for their family in the traditional sense.

Psst ...lean in.......ill tell you something....

Women cream their pants when I walk bye in my military uniform. My poor ignorant mind doesn't want respect......I want sex , drugs and Rock n Roll

I don't practice.....I walk the earth as a jolly green giant....and best believe there is no better feeling then firing MK 19 and seeing the pink cheese.

No, females had their own standards to meet.

They were not required to do pull-ups, and their PFT is significantly more relaxed.

Also, they have different height/weight standards, as well as different grooming standards and uniforms.

If we are going to all be equal, then I want us all to be equal. That means, same standards, same head shaving, same physical requirements, same bathrooms, same sleeping quarters, same everything.

You can't claim we are equal while continuing to give females relaxed standards. Well, I guess you can, we are doing it as we speak. Same thing with affirmative action... we are all equal and the same, but this group doesn't need to do as well to get the same job.

Our country is rotting from the inside out, like ancient Rome.

I've got a 55 year old Aunt, who has worked 10-14 hour days as an attorney her entire life, and she's found the time to get herself in good enough shape to do 10+ pullups straight. What is this for? To give the slow women with big thighs and arses and tiny arms a chance? Not exactly the people you want around you in combat situations really...

Correct, females dont do pull-ups, they do a flex arm hang. Basically, they just hang there.

They're also given an extra 3 minutes to complete the 3-mile run.

I don't think women seem to care about that. They just want more jobs.

I don't care who has the job, as long as they are qualified for it.

But as I've pointed out in numerous instances with fire departments and police departments around the country, unqualified applicants are being given the job because of their skin color or gender, thus putting peoples lives at risk.

I was in combat with females, and they did just fine, because they were every bit as physically fit and dedicated to the job as I was. Now if we start relaxing the standards so people feel 'accepted', thats when I start to have a problem, because its ME who's going to suffer if I ever need to rely on this unqualified person, not some dick head back at the Pentagon.

They're job titles. Man and women can have the positions, so it makes sense to have titles that don't just end in "man." Why does this work so many people up? It amazes me how many people who claim Americans are overly sensitive are so thin skinned about this stuff.

Maybe they should make hiring practices and university acceptances gender and race neutral too? The practices that discriminate against men and Chinese/Indians. Why the phuck should a highly qualified asian man not be accepted into med school simply because of his skin color and gender?
