Not really, but Harden's drives are craftier then them. He doesn't always use speed, he uses a combination of speed, size and side stepping to initiate the contact. Different type of slashers to me.

Jeremy Lin and Derrick Rose even his in his current state also have good first steps.
Steve Nash also had a fast first step. I don't think having a fast first step actually correlates with athleticism more to do with the ability to react immediately and move your body.

Also the ability to freeze the defender with dribble handling, the ability to read defense and act accordingly and on top of that being a great shooter so that the defender has to stay close.
