Switched to the dark side. Previously I owned a HTC M7 which was an awesome phone.
My girl has the Iphone 6 and,I have to admit, the 6s does have some really good new features but not worth the money to upgrade if you already own Iphone 6
+ the live pictures are cool
+ touch ID 2 literally requires you to only tap the home button once and you are in
+ Force touch is useful to access certain elements of an app much faster
However, the "hey Siri" command must be the least useful shit ever. I mean, is that hard for them to make it proper?
If I am in bed, and the phone is on the table. If I say "hey Siri" the phone indeed opens. I tell Siri to call my mother and it does. But, Siri does not acknowledge any command to put the phone on speaker.
I ask Siri about the weather, it tells me the weather, I say "lock screen"... Siri says "I am sorry I cant do that". I mean, seriously? Why cant you lock the screen?
What use is the "hey Siri " command if you still have to literally have the phone in your hand at the end. Very, very disappointing.

Siri blows, but you could just let your phone screen lock on it's own after 5 seconds of inactivity.

True that. I , also, must admit that I was wrong.
If I say " Call Iulia on speaker" then Siri indeed does call and put the phone on speaker without me needing to actually physically hold the phone in my hand. I must have done it the wrong way.

Best friend switched from a Samsung Galaxy I think to a iphone 6 b/c I think it lacks a lot of apps, can be difficult to use at times (I've heard they can get buggy after a year or two of having one). I know someone in the corporate world and for similar reasons, they are switching back to the iphone.
It's weird how common place the iphone is nowadays. I had a flip phone until like 2012.

What do you think of the imessage OP? You can send unlimited sized Gifs and people will receive them if they have an iphone also

Square up
You'll love it. Running my 5s down a little more until I get that paycheck for the 7. It's probably butter smooth. Give apple a few more updates (usually every few months) and they'll get their small tweaks in.
Don't underestimate facetime. It's pretty handy and I prefer it over any webcam apps including Skype and oovoo. Iphones are for those who enjoy smooth and simplicity of the system. Nothing too technical

Siri is limited and sucks compared to Cortana and Android's.
iPhone aint perfect and that's one of its flaws.

Apps are different in that you don't know beforehand that you'll need it.
A few years ago i laughed at all these people going crazy over their smarthpones.
I thought a phone would only be good for texting and maybe an internet search every now and then when a computer wasn't near by.
But then i got a smartphone and slowly started adding apps after hearing about them from random places. Alert apps, sleeping app (it tracks my sleep...which is useful because i don't sleep well often, and this allows me to find patterns), spotify, myfitnesspal (this has helped me learn about calories and nutrition...even if i hardly use it anymore) alarm, nikefitness tracker (tells me how fast and how much distance i have ran when i go jogging), and weather...I use all of these daily.
Dam. Now to think of it, were paying over half a grand for a phone. Who would of thought these would be normal figures 7-10 years ago for a portable phone? I think we're trying to perfect every detail of phones because of the prices were paying but if you ask me the technology IS there. It's just that companies like Microsoft, Apple, Samsung, etc don't want to release such technology to completely blow their competition. They're more than likely trying to be on the same page just allowing customers to select based on their marketing.
You cannot convince me that the specifications aren't there for 15-30megapixel cameras, 300-500gb storages, etc etc aren't available. They are. It's just a matter of waiting and milking step by step.

Should went with the M9, significant upgrade over the M7 and much better than the 6s.

Oh true, I forgot I use myfitnesspal and a workout logger cause I don't like their interface for exercises, just food. I've added dozens of apps but I don't find that I use them continuously. None of the apps listed are exclusive either, so it's hardly a selling point for Apples betters apps.

I got mad respect for HTC because the M7 at its time was trully the best phone out there. It was fast, it had the best screen, the sound in headphones was amazing and their android layout was beautiful.
However, I am disappointed by the M8 and M9 because, in my opinion, they brought nothing new to the table. And I know the 6s is nothing new to the 6 either, but I did not own the Iphone 6 hence my choice.

Doesnt feel like a downgrade to me to be honest. And I am not a fanboy, every two years I buy a new phone and if, 2 years from now, an android device will be the best, I will buy it.
Right now I am really impressed by the 6s and I find it is the best phone out there.

The difference in apps between the 2 systems isn't about quantity anymore (although there are still apps exclusive to iOS) but 'quality'.
iOS simply has better quality apps. They're designed better due to Apple's consistent UI, OS and hardware. They have features that their Android counterparts do not have, but often overlooked.... they get updated faster.
There are developers that straight up refuse to make Android versions of their apps.
It's just to problematic and not worth the hassle for some developers. Too many Android phone models to customize for, there's always the threat of illegal downloads which is higher on Android systems.
My brother in law and I used to have friendly banters over which system was better. And I would laugh at the quality of his Android apps. The NBA app on iOS was designed better, had features that his version didn't have. His app appeared to be a rough draft still in the early beta stages.
There's been different studies and sites discussing this exact same issue. Although to be honest, the quality of Android apps has improved, they're still behind.

Phones are generally extremely boring. For me at least. I can see why you changed. I'll probably get an iPhone myself for my next phone, even though I'm not the biggest fan of their compatibility with everything, and their means of transferring things onto the phone.
The whole point is to chop and change until you find something you like. Even then, something new comes out and give that a go. Apple does some things well, and some things poorly.
I'm sure there will come a time where you hate it. Such as a friend having a song on a computer, and then you not being able to get it off him because you can only get content of the same computer you originally synced to.
Saying that though, their interface is quite nice, runs smoothly and they do a whole bunch of other things really well.

Yes. This will be a major pain in the ass.
You can't do this doe:

It's sick.
This entire phone debate gets old. It's specs vs specs. Software vs software. Appearance vs appearance. Most of the time it's marketing vs marketing tbh. People use phones more based on functionality these days as opposed to appearance. Unless you're shelling out a constant $700-900 every year to have an updated smartphone, what really does it matter defending either models and companies unless you're updated on specs.

I switched to Apple too and am beginning to regret it. The only thing it has going for it is the battery life.
Meticode - Nexus 6 user here too.
Been thinking about getting a wireless charger but I read that it's best to plug the charger in? Then that's not really wireless. How does it work anyway?
The charger stays plugged in. But like, when I am in my living room playing Xbox and am texting between action, I just pick up the phone, send a text, or read one, or whatever, and sit it back down on the charger.
At first, I thought it was dumb, but now the more I use it, the nicer it is. I also have one at my desk at work, and I just sit my phone on it and let it charge all day.
Its pretty sweet.
I had a Droid Maxx where I only had to charge my phone like once every other day (literally) but this S6 just sucks battery, which really pissed me off in the beginning. Now, I don't have to worry about it anymore.

One myth about the Iphone I must admit is that it is "user friendly".
Seriously, everyone keeps saying that, yet an android device is so much easier to use. Luckily I am familiar with the iOS because otherwise it would be a pain in the ass.
So, yeah, I dont get the "user friendly" everyone keeps talking about. Someone explain?
So it just makes it more convenient rather than actually wireless? Might get it though. I recently got a wireless bluetooth headphone. Didn't think it'd be useful but then I was able to listen to podcasts and music in another room, around the house without carrying my phone made me change my mind.
Basically, yes.
I don't know if there's other versions that are wireless, but its a huge convenience. Not only that, my phones tend to have issues charging because I am so rough on it when its plugged in, like, the prongs bend or whatever, and then it has trouble keeping the connection.
Not a problem anymore.
But, put one on your desk at work, and one on your coffee table at home in your living room, and you're always charging.

I'm still using my S4 because the updated Samsung's got rid of the removable back, so I can't switch out batteries or add memory. I've got a 200 gig micro SD card that I can carry my entire music library on, and if I have a big day planned for usage, like if I'm heading to New York or something, I have two extra batteries I can keep charged and throw in my pocket.

Wireless charger is amazing...You have have to mess with trying to plug in the phone to charge. Just place it on the charger in any directions and it will charge. Too bad my Moto X does not have it....

My ex had that s6 and use to charge it in my truck(has a built in wireless charger) and it would get rather hot after extended use.

I bought a little thin pad that hides well beneath a case for my iphobe. Gave it wireless charging capabilities but it suffered from the same heat problem so I scrapped it.
Heat is the number one killer of microchips. Why accelerate that?
Nobody is using the ASUS phone?? They are great and specs and price is awesome.
