Israeli troops shoot dead two Palestinian youths at a military checkpoint in the occupied West Bank over alleged stabbing attempts.

The fatal shootings occurred near the Baghut settlement near the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank. The Israeli soldiers accused the two Palestinians – identified as Ali Muhammad and Sa’eed Judeh – of attempting to stab them. The Israeli Channel 2 said two Israeli soldiers were wounded in the alleged stabbing attempts.

Some reports said the Israeli forces barred ambulances from reaching the scene and attending to the two Palestinians.

Earlier, on Friday, Israeli soldiers killed another Palestinian whom they accused of having carried out a shooting attack in Tel Aviv back on January 1.

On Thursday, Israeli forces had fatally shot four other Palestinians whom Tel Aviv claimed had carried out two separate stabbing attacks in the West Bank.

The occupied Palestinian territories have been the scene of heightened tensions between Palestinians and Israelis since August last year, when the Tel Aviv regime imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds (Jerusalem), angering Palestinians.




Since October 2015, nearly 150 Palestinians, including children and women, have been killed in the clashes with Israelis.

There are a couple handful of eyewitnesses who says they were attackers (with the evidence to back it up), and one Palestinian cab driver who says they were attacked pre-emptively. I can tell you why. It's because every time Israel loosens their blockade and gives Gaza more freedom, Gaza spends all their money and resources on attacking Israeli civilians. Israel gave Gaza a lot. A lot of resources (they still provide electricity for entire damn place, for free), decent infrastructure. And the freedom to run it as they see fit as long as they don't bother Israel. The Gazan people responded by electing a horrific terrorist organisation who's primary goal is the destruction of Israel and the annihilation of the Jews.

And throughout all that. Gaza is still a nicer place to live on average than most other ME countries, largely because of Israel.

I criticize Israel a lot for their awful peace undermining policies in the West Bank. But their treatment of Gaza is pretty reasonable and stories about them indiscriminately killing random Palestinian civilians are almost always baseless propaganda.

They already allegedly got some stabs in before they were shot down. It's likely they waited before they were within a yard of the soldiers before pulling out their knives.
