That performance vs the Spurs was one of the best I have ever seen by a rookie.

Easy there. Let's not say things we can't take back.

He's been a pleasant surprise. Top 15 would be a "you came home from work to find the house clean, your favorite dinner made, and your lady buck naked in the ferrari she just bought you" kind of surprise.

Just because he plays for NY (big market), does not make him that good, only more noticeable. He ranks in low part in top 15 on C position, which is still good and with a lot of room for development.

Would OP say the the same thing if Porzingis were black, though?

Top 15? More like Top 5.
In terms of raw "dominance" he is #1.
His impact is way beyond his stats.

He's not a C he's a PF

Give it a couple of years. His position will change.

He will not be a 5, ever. Look at his impact at the 4. It's been fun watching when he's out there with Lopez. Two 7 footers that can move.

Phil knows.

My thoughts. But I'll take that positive for NY.

And yet KAT is clearly the superior player.

Porzingis was drafted as a project. Defensively KP has been the better of the two, while his offensive ceiling is much higher.

I kind of wish we had Tyson Chandler instead assuming he was at his 2011-2012 level. Better defender than Lopez.

Top 15 avg 14 8 and 2 on 42 % shooting? :facepalm He is great but he is still a rookie and has a long way to go. However, he is the best second option melo has ever had.

A healthy 7+ footer, that has the green light to shoot, with 13 and 8 on 42% shooting? Yeah pretty much everyone drafted ahead of him.

He's definitely been better than Russell and he's been a much better all around player than okafor, who plays no defesnse at all.

AngelEyes

There's no case for Russell having the better year so far. Porzingis has clearly been more valuable. And Okafor has had little to no impact on Philadelphia this season, they're actually better defensively when he's not on the floor. Porzingis is also doing this with a bad point guard, a black hole 2 guard and a coach that is universally regarded as incompetent.

7'2 42%.

7'2 42%.

Who gives a shit. And Rusell is shooting 40% while not even having remotely close to the impact on defense that Porzingis is having. Also Okafor's team has won five ****ing games and he's doing little else outside of scoring, he's actually been a detriment on defense.

Not even close.

He has tremendous potential, but he's a 19yr old kid who still has lots of room left to improve. But he already solidified himself as a legit rim protector who can spread the floor very deep.

He has a small forward skill set, a 2-guard's jumpshot, and has enormous potential to be a perennial all star and superstar.

But he is NOT there yet dude.
Relax.

Also, to those who want him to win ROY.... Towns winning it will only motivate Kristaps more. It's a good thing.

zinger already improved this team way beyond what we could imagine...and each game you see melo and zinger play better and better off of each other...he doesnt take up, nor melo takes up their respected spaces and are able to play inside out both ways..melo in zinger out, or zinger in melo out at the line

its not like that mess amare had with each other up in their grills trying to shoot

He's going to be real good. No doubt. I don't feel anyone could have imagined that the 2015 draft would give us two potential all-time greats. Won't get it twisted, it's Porzingis and KAT.

The idiotic racists that populate this forum is tiresome. Let me guess, Jeremy Lin is really a top 2 PG put the evil NBA is preventing him from reaching his potential because he is Asian right?
