I have never seen a farewell tour like Kobe's.
Selling out every arena and the buzz is strong.
MVP chants from every arena too.

8-30
Pretty amazing.
Every arena is sold out for a 8-30 team.
This is why I said Kobe is underpaid.
How many players in history have sold out arenas for a 8-30 team?

I take it you weren't around in 98 for MJ's farewell tour? Or well any time after his first comeback.
BTW on a mildly unrelated note, cell phone cameras suck. You used to see all the flashes as a player would come out, now you don't get that with these silly cameras (and the images suck to be blunt). I feel like a part of watching the crowd has been diminished a lot by these silly things.

This is true, no matter the record, teams and people all over America (and the world) are outpouring their affections toward Kobe Bryant and almost all are positive (except on ISH). I'm going to have to agree with OP on this one, correct thread 9er!

Not many players announce their retirement at the start of the season. Most players quit at the end of the year and just retire in the offseason.
Very rarely do basketball players do a Derek Jeter farewell tour.

It is, but he doesn't deserve it.

They show the crowd constantly during games. During the player introductions, there was something lost without the flashes especially with a guy like MJ being announced. I'd hardly call it a big part of the game, but it was something special with MJ.
Kobe>Jordan at 3Pt shooting
It's obvious at this point.
