I was wondering about that. Does traffic generate higher ad revenue ? How does it work?
I was wondering about that after debating with a known troll in the NBA forum. The fact that this troll can create alts and maintain them to attack posters makes no sense to me other that to bring up post counts. Trolls are a useful tool to generate higher post counts. I can't think of any other reason why they are allowed to run rampant

I also maintained the belief that one must click the advertisements to generate money for Jeff.
Traffic alone can be used as a metric to demonstrate the popularity of the site.
Traffic should generate more as revenue. I believe it's just based off of how many different IPS visit the website. I'm sure it's not detailed as per post count, for one person can generate as many as 10 for example. I also believe the host purchases ads, in return everyone that clicks the ad he/she gets the full percentage while the sponsors get the customer.

ads can be pay per click, they can be pay per impression (view), or a combination of the two, depending on the setup.

By view, you mean length of the duration a user stays on such website correct? And I'd like to believe that's for the video ads usually

impression just means that the ad was displayed on your screen.
there is a third type of ad model I forgot to mention which is pay per engagement, and this would be something like watching to the very end of a video ad or filling out a survey.
