Good thread and I have addressed this very same issue just 2 weeks ago. Remember when people use to moan and complain about REAL GM and they would say how great ISH was because we are more relaxed here?...well, it has gotten to the point where ISH is unbearable.

We use to say how this place was unbearable due to trolls but it is now unbearable due to political correctness. Too many people are getting offended but in reality what makes this place so great is now offending them because the topic at hand may be about religion or race. Nothing has changed since the beginning, its just now people are getting offended.

Don't expect the usual suspects that are always offended to contribute to this thread.

It was not too long ago that they were praising this place for the laid back attitude.

I recently was given a week long ban at another forum for "trolling" in a thread for saying how the female Ghostbusters cast was a lame gimmick and the politics of it overshadow it being potentially an enjoyable movie.

I'm usually not one to bring politics into my entertainment but this particular example is just so obvious I couldn't not state my piece.

Anyway, I was relentlessly shouted down and labeled a sexist, mysoginitist, etc. until I made a post making fun of the toy action figures of the women which made the progressive liberals there meltdown until someone reported me and got me banned.

My point is, we should all appreciate the vast freedom we have here to say whatever the **** we want on the internet without censorship (mostly).

Things can get out of hand but at least a simple difference of philosophy doesn't get posters ganged up on to the point that we get banned for the opinion of a movie cast and making fun of the toys of actresses.

But - and this is just the way I was raised - if someone was annoying me in my youth my parents never made me think seeking shelter or telling on someone, or anything like that was an answer to the problem at all. I was told if I'm getting annoyed - to stop getting annoyed. They made SURE I understood that the action of getting annoyed, or irritated, or whatever was MY fault. Sensitivity is one's own responsibility.

So this is why I can not believe what kind of generation we must be creating when authorities of colleges are placating to the demands of a bunch of kids who are crying about being sensitive.
