It's a nickname to their mid 90's teams when they were winning championships, don't know why they still use it.

T-Mac changed it to Choke City. As far as I'm concerned they haven't done anything to shed the Choke City name yet.

pretty much because of how they kept rallying to beat the Phoenix Suns in the nineties. the finals too of course but a lot of the dramatics were when they were down three to one vs the Suns and came back. The Suns had the edge early in both of those series.

It's kind of like how the Hawks still call their arena the highlight factory. It's a nickname from the 90's that people still use for whatever reason.
