there is no instance in which a player averages 25ppg in a winning effort and is outperformed by a guy on the losing end unless hes averaging some kind of ridiculous stat line like some wilt chamberlain shit


duncan would had to of averaged 35-40ppg in order to get the nod.

since that is all a superstar can do realistically. then he cant be blamed ( unless hes shooting 27% from beyond 5 feet and taking mostly shots from beyond 5 feet... obviously.. )



but duncan didnt put up some back breaking effort. he was just going out there and averaging 29 ppg... which is really good for duncan. but not worthy of a losing team finals mvp. so it isnt worthy of a western round mvp either


and i dont care about rebounds. hes 7 feet


4 more ppg while losing a series 4-1 isnt stealing any spotlight


anyone can lose and average more points. its easy. jordan did it all the time back in the 80s
