Although, he's been struggling in recent years, the man is the heart and soul of Chicago much like Draymond. Joakim used to be that guy.
How will this affect the Bulls' chance in the playoffs? I had the Bulls beating the Cavs by 30% before this injury.

His current contract is expiring. He's going to get low balled in the summer

It's unfortunate. Noah may have just played his last game in a Bulls jersey.
There's a vocal faction of Bulls' fans that have been hoping for his departure for a few years now, but I hope that, due to his injury plunging his market value, the Bulls will be able to sign him for a relatively light contract extension.
He's lots of fun to watch when he's on his game, and has been active in the Chicago community as well. I'd like him to retire a Bull.

If he has to take a smaller deal it will be with another team. Gasol will walk and then Noah will have tons of leverage. If the Bulls don't give him a huge contract in guessing there will be a messy divorce.
They really should have traded pau or Noah, and now they prob don't have that option without quitting on this season, which they won't/can't do now that they're a top 4 seed

He will not get a HUGE contract from anyone. He maxes out at 10 a year tops with this injury. His numbers the last season are way down and he is above the age that players improve anymore. Most likely he gets a 2 or 3 year deal with an opt out after the first year if his stats are great.

If they can pull off picking up a defensive center this offseason, they should just dump Joakim. His best days are behind him.

Wouldn't be shocked if he played his last game as a Bull.

He is replaceable. Taj, Niko and Pau are all better. Joakim is one of the worst offensive players in the league and has always been an overrated defender. There are games where coaches literally put 6' PGs on him and he cant do anything but pass lmfao

Aw man. My girl and I are going to the Celtics/Bulls game on Friday. He's one of the guys I most wanted to see. Ah well.

Well I guess that rules out trading Noah now.
Noah on a small contract next year would be ideal, he is an excellent team player and an important leader.
Bulls should look to be doing multiple trades now, starting with Taj, Pau and Rose.

You and only you, no one else thought this. If they couldn't do it healthy last year, Rose and with a better coach, what makes you think it would have happened this season?

Shane that he had to end his season this way, but he'll hopefully remain as an invigorating locker-room presence. The flip-side, however, is that Bobby Portis will be afforded more minutes to emerge as a force; I've been protesting in favor of that from the outset of the season, since he easily had an NBA-ready mentality.
As for their playoffs chances now...
If I was a Bulls fan, I'd hope my team wouldn't encounter LeBron in the playoffs again, because it's inevitably another chapter in the litany of Bulls teams roadblocked by LeBron.
Far too many growing pains in Hoiberg's offense so far, as they struggle to synthesize the perfect interbalance between fast-paced offense and effective defense. They are begging like a masochist to be suffocated by the Cavaliers' defense come playoffs time.

Yeah this is sad af but I'm really excited at the same time that Portis will get the time he deserves.
I wonder if Thibs' system was a drain on Noah. He worked his ass off the year he won DPOY, but he fell off hard after that.

The road to the finals in the East is through Cleveland, no doubt about it.
