He had 3 major injuries in his last 3 seasons. Name an athlete that came back ballin after 3 major injuries.

Thats the coach's decision. If they want him to shoot less then give him less play time and make plays on the court that doesn't involve him ISOing. And fans also wants to see him play in his last season in the NBA. That is also why he is the most voted all star this year.

If you're in Kobe's shoes you would still take the money even if you don't know you would still be playing in your prime. Its the managements fault, not Kobe's.

If someone has had 3 consecutive single digit scoring games and is shooting under 35% for the season, he shouldn't be taking shots away from teammates.

He's absolutely atrocious at this point. Might just be the worst player in NBA history. Somebody mentioned this a few days ago. He's the only player in NBA history to take atleast 15+ shots and shoot as badly as he's done.

Tonight's stats : 5 points( from 8 shots), 2 rebounds, 1 assist

That's another argument all together. Duncan took a payout. Shaq did with miami. Dirk did. Kobe is all about money. But that isn't the question.

We're talking about his level of play. Nothing else. And he's awful.

It IS the coach's decision on how many shots a player can take. Kobe has the green light so he will jack up shots as many times as he wants. If the coach is smart he would bench Kobe, but he is just letting it go.

 Are you under the impression that coaches give players slips of paper before the game with how many shots that player is scheduled to take in that nights game written on it?
Are you inebriated?:lol

Again, why are you expecting a 37 year old who played 20 years in the league and had 3 major injuries late in his career to play like an elite player?

I'm just saying if Kobe is jacking up bricks the coach has the power to bench him. But they're just letting Kobe do what he wants. If you can't comprehend that there is nothing for me to say here.

Lebron stans still think they can retroactively taint his legacy with these threads. Oh he's playing bad in his 20th season on a garbage team while suffering from a nagging achilles and shoulder injuries.

Meanwhile he is getting cheered in every arena.

Integrity, loyalty and consistency always wins out in the end.

Enjoy your beloved mercenary, because no one outside of Cleveland is.

Lebron is already ten times more popular. Someone showed a stat that said he's the most popular athlete in the United States. Not nba player, but athlete.
He's already a better basketball player than Kobe has ever been and there's and reason Lebron is mentioned with the legends on the mount Rushmore of the NBA while Kobe is considered borderline top 10 at best by most people.

Duncan and Nowitzki, both much better players than Kobe then and now, say hi.
Garnett is currently kinda like Kobe, but Garnett knows it's better off taking backseat to young guys, and he doesn't write a letter to basket ball to seek attention, so Garnett deserves to be respected.

Shaq + Duncan?

No one expects him to be elite. They do expect him to not play like an idiot.

Just like Laker fans expected Nash to not play like an idiot, but he was complete trash with maybe a few shining moments. Sound familiar?

It's easy to look good if you're Duncan playing on an Championship caliber Team surrounded by talent perfect for today's game. That historic impact on Defense is skewed by the depleted Center position. Only so many Darmarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis around the league today, i'd maybe put Drummond there too, but even then he's not a back to the basket big.

Old man Duncan is feasting on the skillfully challenged bigs of the small ball era, while Kobe is still trying and failing to run with the Steph Curry, Klay Thomson and James Harden's of the world.

He's going out on his own terms which is rare in any sport. Derek Jeter was given the same respect despite being a hindrance to the success of the Yankees. Why would they do that, those fools. Kobe is an all time great, success or fail they're gonna give him to the leeway to suck because all that he's done. If The Spurs didn't have Pop, Kawhi, LMA and the great organization The Spurs has consistently been, his Twilight wouldn't be pretty either.

You know for a bunch of guys who like to talk down to folks you don't apply basic logic.

Jeter was obviously past his prime, but he certainly wasn't holding back team success. He was still quite a serviceable avg. player his last season.
