Good job by the company, you don't show up for work, you lose it :applause: :applause:

FORT MORGAN, Colo. -- Nearly 200 Muslim workers have been fired from a Cargill meatpacking plant in Colorado, for walking out after a dispute over prayer breaks.

After reading the story I thought the company fired them directly over praying, but they didn't. The company fired them because 200+ Muslims simply didn't show up for work 3 days in a row, seemingly no-call no-show.

What a bunch of idiots. If they need to pray 5 times a day this is the way.

1. Pray before work

2. Pray during break

3. Pray during lunch

4. Pray during afternoon break

5. Pray after work

It is very easy but these people didn't show up for 3 days. You're going to get fired.

They do pray before and after work

Muslims are instructed to pray at
Dawn
Mid day
Mid Afternoon
Sunset
And at night

So we are talking about one or 2 prayers. The Company has made accommodations so the workers need to match their accommodations

If hundreds of Muslims were fired from the place I worked, I would probably quit... or start wearing a bullet-proof vest to work. :oldlol:

Am sure there are other people that would really appreciate having a job. Good riddance to rubbish.
But yeah the Religion of Hate..I mean Peace, so don't be surprised if someone tries to hurt someone because of this. Remember they are victims:rolleyes: .

Does anyone have any sympathy for these morons? They did it to themselves. I don't even think they informed their company they were striking, they just decided to not show up for 3 days, according to the article.

And to top it off, the company made several concessions for them! Separate prayer rooms are on the facilities and the supervisor was allowing them to go pray, just not all at once 11 at a time but in rotating groups of three. It is a very easy compromise.

I'm fairly certain that 95% of employees in any job would get fired if he/she didn't come in for 3 consecutive days without notifying.

"It don't matter if I don't have a job, my religion is more important," Aden told CBS News.

They chose their path. Thankfully I have never had problems over this. My bosses have been very gracious and respect me for being strong enough to have commitment like that. I have left work early when I don't take lunch breaks during Ramadan. They celebrate with me by being respectful :applause:

So Muslims should be entitled to prayer breaks whenever they want?

Prayer isn't some willie nillie "feel when you want" type of thing. You don't decide the time for yourself and make sure it's 5 times a day. That's just a gross lack of understanding which is what I said. And why are you always so mad?

Well christians seem to pray when it's necessary for them?

If it doesn't fit the muslim to work those specific hours then don't work there. Stop trying to change your workplace to suit your religion.

If you think your religion is above the governemnt, workplaces and the culture your in, then take your religion elsewhere.

It's not up to the host country to make accomodations to Islam.

Had a muslim that quit operating his equipment and wouldn't answer radio calls during a high pressure (like 3000+ psi) operation. Shit's dangerous to be doing that...people need to be using common sense. Wait until it's over and then pray.

It's fine in an office environment but certain operations need to continue and by you not being contactable is pretty dangerous.

Just for the record, I was joking. I know there's a lot of weirdo anti-Muslim trolls on here, and I'm not one of them.

Not showing up to work for several days straight is grounds for termination. Not sure what the fired people are going for here

Let us make this thread positive. Let us instead focus on all of the muslims in the world who are adapting to different cultures and fit in to the society of the culture they're in. There are many muslims in the west who have progressive compromising attitudes and are still practicing their religion in a peaceful way.

These 200 backwards morons do not deserve attention. The Muslims who have integrated in to non-Muslim society do. In the words of the GOAT muslim, ride on the peace train!

If i have to hire:

1. A person's whose religious beliefs require them to stop working at inflexible times.

or

2. Someone whose religious beliefs have no bearing on their work, when they can work, and so on.

I'm always going with the second option, unless the first makes up for their being a complete pain in the arse in some other way.

Exactly.

They believe that their faith in Allah overrides everything in life, including inconveniencing everyone in the process.

Muslims are quite entitled people.
