He has stepped it up lately. His length is fantastic!
Since January 1st, the Lakers are 22.3(!!!!!!!) points per 100 better with Russell on the floor. (-15.9 off and +6.4 on) ,
For those who still think Russell doesn't play defense, the Lakers are 12.4 points per 100 better on D with him on the floor
Since January 1st, the Lakers are 10.7 points per 100 possessions better on offense with Russell on the floor.
In terms of raw shooting numbers, the Lakers TS% is 5.9% higher when Russell is on the floor. Makes it easier for everyone

Was wondering where the daily Russell thread would be. God knows we need to be reminded of his average-ness and OPs insecurity every day.

Russell is much better than I thought, dude definitely proved me wrong and has a bright future :applause: I thought Russell would bust and Mudiay would beast, quite the opposite. Mudiay is a black hole like Clarkson, both those guys are insanely overrated and don't play winning basketball
That's not to say Mudiay is quite the black hole that Clarkson is but he takes questionable shots sometimes when he should be moving the rock

He'll be nothing special. At best just a good player. He'll have some good games but overall nothing special. On a contending team he would be a back up when he's matured.

Mudiay plays winning basketball. He literally has brought a winning atitude to the nuggets
Look at the Nuggets record with Mudiay and without Mudiay
Shit they just beat the Pacers yesterday too. And the Warriors
And they were on a HUGE slide with Mudiay out the lineup
I dont agree with what you said at all man

I think he's going to be great but you do realize he's playing off the bench for the most part against other team's 2nd units. Lakers' bench is probably average or slightly above average compared to other teams but the starting 5 is just pathetic. It makes sense they are better with Russ on the floor when usually they start off down 10-15 points when Russ comes in and the other team lets them get on these small runs.
But Russ is a decent player nonetheless, showed his superstar potential against the Kings. He's not a highlight kind of player like a Westbrook but he has a high bbIQ and makes the right decisions and he can shoot the open jump shot, good at getting to the passing lanes and coming up with steals that lead to easy transition points.

lol he's been terrible individually for a long stretch now..just look up his production and you see the inconsistency in his game, he got benched like a month into the season..so much for the winning attitude. They caught the Warriors on a road trip and killed them on the boards and got 37 FTA which put GSW in foul trouble but let's be honest..Mudiay hasn't been impressive for a rookie.
They have been winning lately with him back in the lineup but you look at his numbers... 10/3/5 on 35/33/57 shooting with 3.5 turnovers a game...they have been winning regardless of his production... Warriors game he shot 14% with 4 pts 2 assists in 16 mpg off the bench
they are winning right now because their main guys have been showing up as of late, not because Mudiay is back and struggling against 2nd units lmao

I think his spg will improve immensely next season. (Snitches per game)
He'll play in others lanes, pick their pockets...he'll do anything to ensure his spg rise.

Mudiay will. Mudiay turned it on to finish the season. The only reason why Mudiay didn't have the better rookie season was because of his efficiency. He was better defensively, much better vision, actually made his impact on a team that while wasn't in the playoffs wasn't a complete dumpster fire either. He shot 39% post All-Star. Russell shot 41% on the season, 40% post All-Star. Still he got more first place votes, and 2 less votes overall despite being less ready.
Only reason why people aren't giving Mudiay love is because his shooting efficiency. He even got his turnovers down to 3.2 which for a 19 year old running a basketball team is impressive, especially considering his awful start. Russell and everyone else played college. More prepared. Mudiay was much more raw, got hurt in China and played like 8 games. 8 games basically separates Mudiay from jumping straight outta HS to the NBA.
It was annoying watching him chuck and miss shot after shot to start the season but improved greatly. Dude made clutch plays all season long too, even when he was bricking everything.

He got injured, Mudiay was never benched.
Nuggets went 9-8 without Gallo as Mudiay averaged 16/5/4 on 39% with only 2.4 turnovers per game in April. Averaged 19/5/4 with 3.6 turnovers on 46% shooting during March.
Youngest player I believe to have 11 assists or more and only 1 turnover in a game. 18/6/5 on 50% shooting vs the Blazers with clutch assists, shots and block on Lillard. 27/11/4 against Philly with what could be the most insane buzzer beater of the season. 30/5 vs the Suns on 65% shooting. 26/5/3 vs the Suns again on 62% shooting.
15/5/4 on on 39% shooting with only 2.7 turnovers post All-Star break while unlike Russell being forced into having to run things. Mudiay no doubt chucked his rookie season, took insanely difficult shots to the point where I'm surprised he didn't shoot a worse FG% given where his shot is but flashed superstar potential. Russell was suppose to be an elite shooter, Mudiay was suppose to have zero shot. 1.6 makes for Russell on 35% from deep, 1.1 makes for Mudiay on 32%. 7% difference at the FT line and Mudiay got there more.

Jokic/Nurkic/Mudiay/Harris/7th/15/19th pick + potential lottery pick eventually from Memphis. Gallo/Chandler/Faried/Barton/Joffrey as prime/vet guys/trade chips. Cap space. 33 wins so not like Denver was a dumpster fire, especially factoring the amount of injuries they had. A healthy roster probably looking at 36-41 wins. Keep in mind that's while starting 2 rookies and a 2nd year player. 3/5 of lineup had little to no experience yet we still managed not to be a complete trainwreck.
I know you and pac just troll and it's pointless responding to it but rarely get Nuggets talk on here :lol future actually looks really bright in Denver. Teams who typically play young guys like Denver did tend to win 17-23 games, ahead of schedule.

Denver are a go-nowhere franchise, jabroni. LAL got 16 titles and the 17th on the way within the next 7 years.
Know your role and shut your mouth.
