I started watching in the 1994-95 season.
I've seen them all
The Magic team that went 39-2 at home.
The 72 win Bulls
The early 2000's Lakers
The 27 win Heat
This year's Warriors
But this Spurs team is sum next level sh**.

the 2001 lakers nearly routed the nba
almost going undefeated in the playoffs
they are the goat team... and by team i mean combo since it was mainly just kobe and shaq playing nearly as good as they ever did
30/15 + all defense
and
30/7/6 + all defense
both top 10 players ever
both dropping 40+ games
good luck

2nd 3peat Bulls are the best team ever.
This Warriors team might usurp them though.

71 Bucks - 14.5
01 Lakers - 13.7
96 Bulls - 12.1
15 GSW - 8.3

At least you have an excuse. OP saw the 96 Bulls and claim a team from today is better? OP must've been two years old then. :facepalm

the 71 bucks only played 3 rounds
their 1st round matchup was the 41-41 warriors ... and their finals matchup was the 42-40 bullets

They also averaged 14 margin against "Wilt,Gail and Hairston" s Lakers . 1971 Lakers probably better than 2001 Lakers' every opponents at playoffs .

This Spurs team would wipe the floor with any version of the Bull's second three peat.

I hope the Warriors can best them in 7 game series but I wouldn't bet on it.

Spurs are good but nobody on them is stopping MJ.
They don't have an elite scoring superstar so they are vulnerable to upsets in the playoffs i.e. Clippers last year.

You might be right, but isn't that what people said about LeBron?

I'm partial to the '72 Lakers and the '67 Sixers (and I could go at length to explain why)...but the '71 Bucks were sitting at 65-11 and were outscoring their opponents by a +13.6 ppg, when they took their foot off the pedal.

Jordan was a hell lot better player, scorer and competitor than LeBron.

no. '71 Lakers went into the playoffs without either Baylor or West, both injured.
That team was close to the '72 lineup, but they didn't have Coach Sharman - huge difference - and Baylor was gone in '72 - good riddance.

This.
The '72 Lakers beat the defending champion and 63-19 Bucks, who had gone 66-16 just the year before...EIGHT times in the '72 season (4-1 in the regular season, and 4-2 in the WCF's, including a 25 point win in game five, and a come-from-behind win in the clinching game six, and on Milwaukee's home floor.)

it's really hard to say it, only half-way through the season but I got to agree with this OP, at least put them right on up there.
To me these are the best teams I've seen - I don't knock teams like the earlier Bulls or the Shaq Lakers but they were... not as great at each and every position like these were. Not so stacked everywhere, see?
1986 Celtics
1967 Sixers
1996 Bulls
1972 Lakers
Showtime '87
'70 Knicks
yeah these Spurs would be a force to be reckoned with against any of those teams.
Imagine if they had the younger versions Timmy and Manu? Incredible

This is what you get when you stay with your team and build team chemistry, instead of jumping from one stacked team to another stacked teams.
Just a few games ago, their best scorer was J. Simmons some dude they groomed in the D-league.

Hairston , Gail and Wilt did play as a result . They better than 01 Spurs or Kings or Phila .

60's NBA had 9 teams . There was no chances for like that stuff records .
1972 Lakers faced the 72 Bucks . 72 Bucks shutdown their(Lakers) points differantials .
