Lillard said he assumed he would not be a part of the competition to play in the Rio Olympics because he declined an invitation to last year's minicamp and because his last experience with USA Basketball did not end well. In 2014, Lillard was one of the final cuts from the FIBA World Cup team and it's his opinion that he wasn't given a fair shake to make that team.
