It's just a reg season game, but at least 2011 finals his team was competitive. This past game was a monumental display of dominance. It was like a dog killing another dog and then pissing on his corpse to tag his territory.

Only diehard Bran stans are hanging on to that narrative.
Curry is clearly the best right now. The way he punked the shit out of Lebron last night was further evidence...evidence that we didn't really need.

Do you really think this game is going to have any significance come April 25 (the start of the playoffs) or June 1 (the start of the Finals)?
Ideal regular season would be around 50 games. This 82 games sh*t is ridiculous.

Well it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. I agree.
But
A lot of people and media included, have been waiting on the Cavs to beat GS with a full squad since it has been claimed that they would have won with a healthy Kyrie and Love. Warriors win Christmas and then it's wait until they play them at home. Stephen A Smith guaranteed a win for the Cavs. That's why they are making a big deal out of it.

No, this was one of the few regular season games that mean something. Both teams came into the game with something to prove. Cavs needed to show they could beat GSW. They even had extra motivation from Steph's comments. They not only couldn't beat GSW, they couldn't stay on the floor with them.
Last night showed the Cavs can't win. They can't beat GSW or SA four out of seven. With Iggy or Kawhi defended him, Lebron can't command the doubles that give his teammates open shots. Cavs simply can't score enough to keep up with teams like GSW or SA due to their ball movement, multiple scoring threats and a dependable offense. GSW took their spirit when they jumped out to that big lead early in the first. The Cavs only chance was to keep it low scoring and hope for some luck late in the game. When GSW jumped all over them, it was over. Cavs knew they couldn't score enough to catch up, let only beat them.
Last night should have been an eye opener for the Cavs front office. They need to make some moves because they can't win as-is.

Keep dreaming. Steph went into Lebron's building and emphatically established himself as the league's best player. For those that didn't already know. Steph talked a little noise and then went out and took a dump right on Cleveland's home court in front of everybody. It was a statement game for GSW but it was even more of a statement game for Steph. He had the Cavs giving cheap shots and losing their composure. THE KING IS DEAD, LONG LIVE THE KING!

One fairly bad game where his team didn't do shit against the best player in the world is nothing compared to getting destroyed as a heavy favorite in the Finals, and choking tremendously in the 4th

I think this seems worse because it was a paradigm shift. GSW didn't just defeat Lebron's team, they have the answer for Lebron ball. Steph isn't just the best player in the league, he's also the anti-Lebron (meaning he has changed the way we expect the best player to play). On top of that, he's not overly passive-aggressive and he doesn't seem to care what people think.
He has made Lebron seem like last year's model: old, bulky and out-of-date (though I know Father Time did a fair amount of damage).

Its like I said in another post. One regular season game is not a seven game playoff series. They killed us. Yes they did. Lets see them do that to us four times though. 8th seed teams have been to the finals, 8th seed teams have defeated 1st seed teams, teams that destroyed a team in the regular season have lost to that very team in the playoffs. Just saying. Being a Cavs fan my entire life, I know first hand that destroying teams in the regular season don't win you anything but HC advantage.

Skip's actually not far off. Except I would call it the most humiliating defeat of LeBron's regular season career. LeBron has been without peer in his era when it comes to besting his top rivals in H2H match-ups. Kobe, Durant, Wade, 'Melo and even Curry (last season), he almost always wins the personal battle. He always shows up BIG in those games, leaving no doubt about not only his superiority, but more importantly, his pride/competitiveness. Of course, not that last night was a battle of "Who's better?". Curry clinched consensus best-in-the-NBA title long ago this season, but it was still jarring to see someone outplay LeBron so thoroughly. On his turf to boot. I can't recall that ever happening to him. And this isn't even getting into the much bigger storyline - Cavs getting absolutely roasted at home by their biggest rivals in what was a pretty BIG game (regular season wise). Cleveland had every incentive to come out fired up and make a statement last night. And then that happened. Can't recall that ever happening to LeBron in the regular season either - a beatdown like that at home in a BIG game. In the playoffs, yeah(Game 5 2010 ECS, 2011 Finals), but not in the regular season.
I'm not worried about LeBron though. His play looks fine to me. His team's the issue. Cleveland has a couple of glaring holes(caveman offense & Love's D) that makes their chances to beat SA or GS an impossibility.

yeah that's my view too.
And actually not only that game either. there was another key game last week I mean Spurs.
So what we saw was this.......
Golden State over Cavs end of 1q
34 21
and everybody felt like Cleveland was getting blown right out of the gym which they were.
Yet only a few days earlier, Cavs over Spurs end of 1q
32 20
nobody was counting Spurs out or even in trouble, nor were they even flustered by Cavs. At all.
The way I see it
Warriors are fleet, devastating
Spurs are totally balanced, remorseless
Cavs are floundering, desperate
Maybe Cleveland can turn things around but to me, and I've said this from just a few games after he showed up, that coach ain't doing any good over there in Ohio.
***********************
* People are bashing Kevin Love but he's playing an entirely different role, style, timing....... every single thing different from what he did in Minnesota. That dude is an elite power forward, and yes I mean that elite..... playing a spot up shooter role. He looks totally lost and no wonder. They are asking a Dodge Ram super heavy duty work truck - the best vehicle there is for that function - to go do Formula One racing. Could not be stupider coaching than that.
* Irving is clearly not drilling in practice because he's out of position, behind the play, or out of the play a LOT. Could not be stupider coaching than that.
* James doesn't have motivation near what he had in Miami.
Coach's primary role, function, and existence is to motivate his team and that starts with his best player.
*************
Every last particle of that is coaching and Cavs do not have much of anything in that area.
Trade Popovitch and Blatt and no other changes, next year Cleveland wins a ring. Not this year it's too late but next year they would. They have the team but they don't have what it takes on the sideline.
