The early plot description when it was going by The Cellar/Valencia:

The story follows a young woman who wakes up in a cellar after a severe car accident and fears she has been abducted. Her captor, a doomsday prepper, tells her he saved her life and that there has been a terrible chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable. She does not know what to believe and as tensions rise, she decides she must escape, regardless of the terrors that await outside.

I watched the trailer last week and I'm pretty intrigued by it. But it does feel like something less than a sequel. It's a cool idea to have the separate, small story that's happening within the same world as the original. But the trailer makes it seem like it's a bottle flick that will take place almost entirely within this bunker between three characters.

I'd still like to see it.

this is a movie that doesn't need to exist. I personally thought the first cloverfield sucked.

Budget for the movie is only $5 million. Most o the movie takes place down in the bomb shelter. There's going to be very little action outside the cellar. So don't expect the Cloverfield monster.

This looks pretty cool.

Finally, a good movie I am aware of that is coming out soon that isn't a fukking comic book/super-hero . Fukk super-hero movies. Fukk that sh*t. They totally ruined movies for me.

Yes, this is a meltdown.

If you went back in time to 1995 and told the younger me that the trent in hollywood from 2005-2015 would be fukking comic book super-hero movies, I woulda laughed my azz off.

it made its budget 7x over. Of course it needs to exist and was guaranteed to happen

The first movie there was very little of the monster if not none either lol but it was still good, difference is less action here

I thought the best part of Cloverfield is that you don't really ever SEE the monster much, it arcs the suspense. The film is built on survival of the characters. Otherwise it would just be another corny Godzilla flick

This is gonna be the first movie in years that I want to and will see in theaters when it first comes out.
Batman vs Superman?
Creed?
Neighbors 2?

Yes, and the difference in budget is 1/5 of what the original movie was back in 7 years ago. I'm guessing it's going to involve more of the human aspect of this, and less of the monster if any.

You really don't understand what the monster looks like until the very end. There is a wiki page about the movie stating the origins of the monster. It came from the ocean and is just a baby and thousands and thousands of years old being awaken by submarines studying it while in hibernation.

Abrams states the reason he didn't give the origin of the monster in the movie is because he wanted it to feel realistic. If a monster literally attacked like that, no one is going to know where the hell it came from and everyone is going to be highly confused and running for their lives.

It won't be made from a cellphone videocam? I'm in. I liked the first even if I didn't always know what was going on.

You should re-watch it on a big screen. I actually enjoyed it, probably turn on some surround sound and you're basically in the movie. It's a hit or miss for people. But, I don't see how Paranormal Activity is so popular and this isn't.
