Has an 80 mill contract demanded more money reckons he was that good and his best night he might get 8 pts 10 rebounds? and is nowhere to be seen in big games :biggums:

Two reasons, effort and expectation. Tristan is not as talented as Love but gives 100 percent effort every night and isn't a huge whole on the defensive end, whatever he provides on offense is a bonus. His role is clearly defined.
Love's role is a little more up in the air, he's a stretch four and hasn't provided what they've expected of him and is capable of producing at higher level on the both defense and offense.

I was fearful that this would happen. Everyone was talking about Love finding his niche in the beginning of the season and I'm sitting here thinking, "Kyrie isn't in the offense yet, it's going to be much easier for Love to get more shots up and get the shots he wants when there's not two ball dominate players in the lineup."
So far that's what's been happening. Once Irving has come back I rarely see Love get the ball at the elbow anymore, all I see is three point shots most of the time.

What did they expect from him?
His numbers aren't that far off his usual career numbers if you account for the fact he takes 6 less FGA per game (while still taking the same amount of threes as he has most of his career) and his usage % has dropped by close to 10%. Minutes are down too.
He's never been a great defender and if he was bought in as a stretch four he's basically doing the same %s he did nearly every other year of his career.

I hate to admit this as I am a Kyrie fan but he over dribbles far to often and isn't a willing passer. When Kyrie and Lebron are running the show they play very much in the manner OKC do, in the fact that it's your turn my turn, the player this hurts the most is Love as he's a very capable scorer if given the chance.
This still doesn't excuse the terrible defense both he and Kyrie play, Love's coverage of PnR might be the worst in the league, he often confuses coverage and is in the wrong position.

With the way they use love they would have been better off going to Anderson or signing Channing Frye.

You would expect his TS% would rise as he has a far lower USG%, similar to the way Bosh, Lebron and Wade experienced. They also haven't be able to find a role for him on the offensive end as they haven't utilised his versatility.
He hasn't been a great defender but I believe and I don't know for sure that they didn't know he was this bad particularly a team-defender. Sometimes when I watch him play defense I think he has no clue what's going on.
Both sides have to do a better job, I must admit it's difficult with really ball dominant players.

I agree he isn't performing some things he should be doing (he does look lazy and perhaps a bit un happy with how they run things) but expecting his ts% to rise when he is taking like half his FGA's as threes is unrealistic. He used to get his stats up with the easier looks in the paint but that doesn't happen any more.
Sure he's been a let down but I think it was unrealistic if people expected him to come in and average 20+ ppg and be a legit star with Kyrie and Lebron running the show.

I agree with what's been said about TT in this thread. It would help Love out if the rotations were better managed so that he get more burn in lineups that feature just Kyrie or no LBJ/Kyrie. For some reason, LeBron doesn't run enough PnRs with Love- I that would be a nice way to involve him more in the offense (not just PnP, but actually get Love moving towards the basket).
He should be the first guy subbed out in the first quarter so Cavs can go small and let LBJ play his style. Then sub out LBJ and put Love back in, with either Kyrie or Delly @ PG. They need to use Love as more of a fulcrum on offense for more of his minutes.
This may have been in a different thread, but the Cavs should have a few different units/styles:
-The Big 3 lineup
-The LBJ/Kyrie one (with both Mozgov & TT or just 1)
-The Love/Kyrie one
-The LBJ + roleplayers one
The Big 3 lineup should start and end halves (unless Love is too bad on defense for that matchup so Cavs play w/o him). They need to run lineups that actually benefit the guys out there if they won't run a real offense.
It's clear that when LBJ/Kyrie/Love are all healthy that use Love in a suboptimal manner against the Dubs and Spurs.

Just bench Love when they play against the Warriors, and Spurs.
