This is why ESPN is going bankrupt. They just showed a 7 minute segment about Steph Curry going in a sensory deprivation chamber. Spent a minute showing some dumbass reporter lying in the tank and making shitty jokes.

No one wants to see this shit.

I feel like ESPN used to not be so shit.

I feel like they're more successful now than they've ever been. Perhaps the quality of their product isn't as good, but my roommates and I always tune into Sportscenter before going to bed

Or the boom of cable cutting is hurting their bottom line.

ESPN is single handedly dragging Disney down and causing their stock price to go down even with the success of Star Wars.

If ESPN wasn't attached to Disney it wouldn't exist. The network is hemorrhaging money.

Financially, and in terms of viewership, they are worse than they have ever been.

If Disney wasn't holding them up ESPN wouldn't exist anymore.

ESPN stays winning. People complain so much about them, yet they still watch.

stupid people gon stupid.

I don't like ESPN's programming so what do I do? only tune in when the games are on and don't pay attention to the announcing unless Jeff Van Gundy is complaining about something.

Cable is dieing, I mean how many people here even still have it? I know I dropped cable nearly a decade ago and haven't once thought about getting it back. The only and I mean ONLY reason I've thought about it was basketball, but steaming is too good. Plus bars exist...

The high cost of getting games on there is leading to major "cost savings" which is lowering the quality of on air talent. They aren't going broke but they are struggling as the cost of live sports is the ONLY thing saving cable but that is driving demand by the networks as that is literally their only linchpin at this point. Even HBO is allowing streaming purchases outside of cable for their product.

We're a few years away from a truly great time, the end of cable forever!

I'm the same way. SportsCenter used to be a staple for me every morning before school as a kid, but over a decade later ESPN just feels like a safe-space university with goofy agendas. I can't watch that network anymore.

I've been to ESPN headquarters tho. Really chill place with cool people and technology. They have a sick gym and there were a lot of hotties working out there. I went on a date with a cashier from the gift shop which was a fun night.

Stock prices are based on expectation of future income, a decline in expected growth rates reduces stock value. Stock value dropping is not remotely a sign of bankruptcy.

This is the norm for ESPN/SportsCenter now

How anyone watches that network or show I have no idea. I only watch ESPN if they have a game I want to watch, besides that I don't watch a second of it

Whats wrong with them showing a seg on sensory deprevation? Lots of athletes use it now. Relaxing, inexpensive, takes pain away.

They could film a cow taking a dump in a field and it would be more interesting then your life is.
