In 2017 LBJ is elible to sign for 35% of the cap which is estimated to be 108 million. By year 5 he would be making a monstrous 40 mil a year at age 38.

Will he pull a Duncan and take a paycut to bring in talent or selfishly sabotage/handcuff his team like Kobe?

Original numbers were off:

A max contract in 2017 would be 5 years/$203M with 2021-22 (age 37/38) coming in at $45.9M.

$35,326,342 - $37,975,817 - $40,625,293 - $43,274,768 - $45,924,244

Total: $203,126,464
