I think he's universally loved because he's a general good guy who doesn't have bring any drama, like MJ to the public back then.

Lebron had the Decision, the early hype of GOATness (which put people off) and an ungraceful game. Kobe was seen as an MJ wannabe, and was aloof. Plus he had the rape case.

Curry is an underdog, has a very beautiful looking game, and is great with the media and the fans. He's also "white" enough to appeal to white people. Perfect recipe for marketability.

The most interesting thing the Warriors were involved in was Draymond saying the Cavs suck. Other than that they're boring as hell to me. Super good guy Curry and super likeable teammates that play the game the right way and win by 30 every game. No drama. No character. No personality. No reason to watch for me.
