LeBron James stressed Saturday that he did not influence the Cleveland Cavaliers' coaching change, saying he was "surprised and caught off-guard" by the decision to fire David Blatt.

"That's not my concern," James said. "I found out about it just like every other player on this team at 3:30 yesterday. ... I think [Griffin] was right on everything he said. ... Like it or love it or hate it, we got to respect it."

Not exactly the reaction of a man that's shocked and caught off guard.

Seems more like a bully that beat someone up then when confronted about it replies with "sheeet son I dindu nuffin, none of my biz"

Yeah... nobody except for his fanbois are buying that bullshit. :oldlol:

LeBron never liked Blatt and wanted him gone the minute he hightailed it back to Cleveland.

I could just see the way he said that. "Like it... or LOVE it... [realizes he's way too hyped about the firing] ...errr, or hate it, we uh... got to respect it"

That's literally how someone acts when they already knew ahead of time someone was leaving the company but is supposed to act "surprised" like they didn't know when the person actually tells them. Anyone who's worked a corporate job knows exactly what I'm talking about.

He's not gonna make this shit go away quietly unless he turns the team into a champion.

Which it currently is not. I'm disappointed in all the James shenanigans... he's making quite the paper trail.

I just don't believe Griffin had the clout to not hire a guy LeBron wanted in Jackson(allegedly), yet he has to consult LeBron to fire a guy the whole locker room sans Kyrie and a couple bench players didn't respect? Where does the power end?

People are gonna bitch and moan, though, and select what they want to believe.

Since LeBron has been pushing four Lue to become HC since he went back to Cleveland, I find this very hard to believe.

Exactly. A lot of the NBA too felt that Lue should have gotten a look at HC when Cavs had the vacancy. He's gotten rave reviews from all the coaching staffs he's been a part of. He was a smart crafty player who didn't have much talent. Phil Jackson has even stated in his 2004 Laker season book that he wish he kept him on the roster because Gary Payton couldn't guard Billups because he wasn't quick enough and was on his last legs as a starter. He seems to be very active on the sidelines compared to other assistant coaches I've seen over the years for teams.

Lebron might of not have pressed the button, but he pointed the gun at Griffin's head. Everyone knows Lebron was backing the firing of Blatt since day one. He's trying to deny that he did not influence the sacking, which everyone knows is complete horseshit.

So why would woj (despite being the best reporter) a known lebron hater, and all of the cavs claim otherwise?

I've no doubt lebron let it be known that he didn't like blatt and wanted him gone, but that was much earlier in the season, or even last year.
