Growing up as a kid, my father and all of my uncles were dreaded by Kobe. They respected his game. Whenever the Knicks would play Kobe, they'd shit bricks and be strongly against watching the game as if they were forced.

I realized my father respected Kobe a million times more than LeBron, he hated Kobe because he killed us.

Honorable mention: Pierce

Probably Magic, my dad always preferred white players

Larry Bird. Thinks L.A. and Magic is too Hollywood, show - off type. Respected Bird more because he's a killer on court and just business type.

I'm the youngest and started watching the NBA in the mid 80's. My older brothers talked about Dr. J more.

My dad thinks Magic is goat(not counting Sabonis, shit he says about Sabonis beats those mountain Lion stuff about Wilt) and Bird is 2nd. He puts Kobe at Iverson tier. He hates star treatment he says Harden doesn't play basketball. He says that Jordan and Shaq without refs treatment would be a lot worse. He praises Barkley as atleast top 10 player. Says NBA basketball is nowadays dumb in general besides Spurs and that 80s teams would trash today's teams. He hates LeBron travelling all the time but then says well everyone travels in that ****ing league. He appreciates LeBron passing because he has such a monster body but still can pass so well. Laughs at Kobe selection all the time and says Iverson atleast was quick enough to get open before shooting those ridiculous jumpers. From recent times he liked Nowitzki, Wade(doesn't stop talking about his blocking ability for a small player ever), Duncan and anyone who has legit hook shot as it's his favorite shot and main weapon.
