Any ideas?
He looks fit and firing. Alot of people keep putting the blame on his poor teammates but I think its time for even his biggest fans to admit their is more too it then that.
His jumper has deserted him this year. His post up moves are predictable and easy to double team. The most important thing however I feel stopping him from reaching his potential is quite simply his passing or just general lack of creativity.
At this stage he just looks like a freak athlete who doesnt understand quite yet how to play the game so he can reach his full potential. I know New Orleans signed him to a massive contract so perhaps his desire level has dropped off as well?
Might be a combination of the above but when its all said and done im not sure he is even a top 5 PF in the league this year never mind a top 5 player

What makes you think theres something wrong?
Sometimes teams just dont have a good year.
Whats wrong with James Harden? Damien Lillard? Cousins?.... the list of guys with great stats but poor records isn't exactly short.

He's really not that different as an individual player than he was last year from what I'm seeing, he just isn't playing at that level. It's hard to tell why, I'm watching the Bucks-Pelicans game right now and it's a bunch of different things..team isn't that talented, offense is pretty erratic, he doesn't seem to have the same focus/intensity, and also his jumper isn't automatic like it was last year. He looks bigger but he's not slower (at least not noticeably). You can't really point to one thing. Young players have underwhelming seasons after their breakout year all the time, shit happens.

He still goes very long stretches without touching the ball too.
Tyreke/Jrue/Anderson have no business taking more shots than AD.

overrated. teams are actually putting an effort into guarding him. His main offense solely relies on alley oops or transition dunks fed by his point guards. But forget that, lets give him more excuses!

At this point he's not capable of creating his own offense, so he's painfully reliant on others to create shots for him.
His offensive game consists mainly of jumpshots, mixed in with a few lobs and floaters here and there. He has no post game to speak of whatsoever.

Kings have won 7 of 10 and Cousins is averaging 31 points 14 rebounds, 3 assists and a block and almost 2 steals a game since Jan 1.

I think its for the same reason that Dwight gets 10 touches a game for Houston. He doesnt get into any spot to actually get the damn ball. He is slow to get down the court. Runs to one spot and just stands there. Jrue can either pass it to AD on a 2 on 1 cos its obvious where he is going to catch the ball or he can try to move it to a free player. Its a easy decision really
Sometimes the toughest part of offense is getting yourself free to get the ball. This is why Steph Curry is on his way to MVP and AD isnt making the All Star game. Steph does more work to get himself free in one game then Davis does in 10

Of course he does...
One is a 6'10 forward the other is a 6'3 guard.
I'd say only JJ Redick is close to Curry in that regard.
Does that make all but 2 guys in the league lazy?

Bad comparison, true. Id compare to say Blake Griffin then. Griffin gets the ball in different spots. Even goes past the 3 point line to get the ball. Davis touches can be pretty much measured in a 15ft radius. Needs to work like Griffin more

AD isn't moving any less off the ball than he did last year.
His 10-16ft Jumper has gone from .451 to .349 this season. Bring that back to normal and hes averaging 28.
He's just shooting poorly and lacking confidence as a result.
