Last season we all agreed that the conference should have nothing to say because teams in the west were playing extremly well, but was not making the playoffs. This year the west is not as strong and a losing team is making the playoffs. In the east every playoff team got a positive record.

Did we overreact? How should the playoff format be?

Playoff format should stay the same, though it's weird divisions literally mean nothing now. Kinda miss the way it used to work.

The conference system is fine though. Leave it alone, Silver.

The east was shit for about 15 years. It would still be cool to have just the top 16 teams regardless of conference, but it could make for hellacious journeys, especially with the 2-2-1-1-1 system.

Yes. The playoff format is fine. There's no need to change something that isn't broken.

No...it's been going on for 15 years and the best and most fair system would just see the 16 best teams in the playoffs regardless of conference.

Doesn't matter if it's East or West being better...there should never be a double advantage of playing in the easier conference all year...then getting to play those easier teams in the playoffs.

I'll add though...the West still has a much tougher road for the playoffs. Warriors, Thunder, Spurs are probably the best 3 teams right now...and honestly outside the Cavs...there probably isn't a team better than the Clippers in the East.

Been broken for 15 years...give or take...

Unless people like watching bad teams play each other...and title contenders play in round 1...yep, it's not broken.

I think it's fine and keeping the format within each conference builds rivalries. Stuff will not stay the same forever.

Although if you're a fan of a team that is always facing one of the better teams in round 1, then yea you might have a problem with this, but I honestly think it's fine and should stay the way it is.

If not, why even have conferences, what's the point of playing teams in your own division more, or against your own conference more for that matter.
