so chris paul can play off ball then get roasted for not putting up the same stats he does when he runs an offence? The problem is they keep going for names instead of fit.
Good point by Outbreak, Lebron the GM seems to go by stats and names, not fit and personality.
Go ahead and create a - realistic - Cavs team with best fit for Lebron ball.
My team:
PG - Avery Bradley
SG - Wilson Chandler
SF - LeBeta
PF - Ryan Anderson
C - Rudy Gobert
Curry
Redick
Lebron
Durant
DeAndre

That would be a hell of a team.
Klay instead of Chandler and they will win a chip
Not realistic at all lol.
Lebron assembled Wade & Bosh and got Ray Allen as well.

Basically deadeye quick release spot-up shooters who play smart rotational D and pass well on the hockey assist, or Bigs with great hands who keep the bball up and can both finish at the rim and pop from midrange with efficiency.
these two types of players are the perfect compliment to ball dominant, high-scoring wings.

You can't have a big force in the paint, LeBron needs a clear out most of the time, I would assemble something like this:
PG: Delly
SG: Klay Thompson
SF: LeBron James
PF: Tristan Thompson
C: Chris Bosh (prime)
In todays league, with small ball Bosh can work at C for Bron.

Lebron assembled Wade & Bosh and got Ray Allen as well.
LeBron wanted Bosh to come to Cleveland.
How did he get Ray Allen when Riley's the one who allegedly called all the shots?

Needs more offense.
for a starting 5 that is catered to lebrons strengths, i feel thats a very cohesive line up, as long as your perimeter players buy into off ball movement. outside shooting would be on point.
a shot creating 6th man would be nice too.

Honestly, op lineup is not all that realistic. Those guys make little money and are role players. A normal team has a couple guys paid big dollars at least.
Here's a team that works w lebron
Pg: Patrick Beverley
Sg: Klay Thompson
Sf: Lebron
Pf: Draymond Green
C: Joakim Noah

The Center needs to be an elite 7 foot defender that can finish strong, rebound, and block shots.
The other forward needs to be able to shoot threes and defend at a high level.
The two guard should be an elite shooter, secondary playmaker, ok defender.
Point guard just needs to be able to hit threes, take care of the ball, and passable D.
C- Deandre Jordan
F- Shane Battier
F- LeBron James
G- Ray Allen
G- Derek Fisher
I know Battier, Fisher, and Allen don't play anymore, but those are just the kind of guys that came to mind first. A player like that.

Hack-a-DeAndre will literally happen every single game if you put him on one of these stacked LeBron-ball teams you guys have named, simply because it would be the only way to win against it.
Which is why the ultimate (semi-realistic) LeGOAT-ball team consists of:
Avery Bradley
Klay Thompson
Trevor Ariza
LeChrist James
Tyson Chandler

in order for LeBron ball to flourish LeBron needs to play PF and play with 100% effort on the defensive end every night, not just in the playoffs. If LeBron took Aldridge's spot on the 2014-15 blazers they'd have been a near perfect fit. Elite shooting backcourt, solid center, stretch four off the bench and a good sixth man in McCollum.
Damian Lillard
Wesley Matthews / CJ McCollum
Nicolas Batum
LeBron James / Meyers Leonard
Robin Lopez

I know the agenda obviously, but anyone can play in lebron ball.
Lebron carried scrubs to the finals and elevated all their games. Hes proven he can play with black holes like wade and soft guys like bosh.

What difference does it make?
Having 2 ball-dominators (Lebron and the point guard) means the only POSSIBLE supporting cast is a bunch of play-finishers, including spot-up shooters.
This format for a team can't win unless it contains sufficient colluded talent to offset the suboptimal chemistry and force through a 2/4 underperformance.

would result in 2/6 at best, probably much worse
Lebron's ball-dominant style is suboptimal - so the optimal supporting cast for his style can't win unless it contains sufficient colluded talent to offset the suboptimal chemistry and force through a 2/4 underperformance.

That Boston team is all off ball and stretch the floor and Bradley smart are very good defensively, think LeBron would fit nicely.

D Gibson, Hughes, Sczerbiak, Illgauskas, Gooden, Shaq, Ben Wallace, Mo Williams, West, Chalmers, Cole, James Jones, Wade, Bosh, Haslem, J Anthony, Delledova, Mozgov, TT, JR Smith, Shumpert, etc and about 20 other players to be exact.
Basically any team this beast has been on has gotten at least to the Conference Finals.
You won't able to find any other player who has made a team an instant Finals team upon landing there (twice), and has had his former team go from a contending team to non-playoff team (twice as well) directly upon his departure.

They'd fit awesomely with Lebron, I agree... Lebron would fit like a glove.
But even with the perfect supporting cast that suits Lebron's game, they won't win many championships because his style is suboptimal - that puts a limit on how good the BASKETBALL is played by the team.
Obviously, a team built optimally around an off-ball player like Curry plays a far superior brand of basketball and is a much better team.. :confusedshrug:
Btw, the NBA.com shows the efficiency of each TYPE of play (i.e. off-screen, isolation, post-up, etc)... So we can see that Curry uses the more efficient off-ball plays more often, while Lebron and most other big scorers use the less efficient ball-dominant plays more often (ballhandler in screen rolls and isolations) - this is why Curry is more efficient (in addition to his 3-point shooting)... Each play-type of ranked by efficiency here:

What do you consider realistic? He already has 2 All-NBA teammates and the highest payroll in the league by ~$30 million.
Conley
Redick
Ariza
LeBron
Ibaka
That team would be scary.

PG George Hill
SG Bradley Beal, but preferably Klay
SF Lebron James
PF Ibaka
C. Valcunious or Gortat
Is that too stacked?.. I think that's the best type of supporting cast for Lebron - it can't include a scoring, shot-creating PF, because Lebron's game wastes that kind of scoring (bosh, love).
The PG should be a non-ball-dominant, spot-up shooter (that can play D), since Lebron is the team's PG-level ball-dominator - if you had 2 PG-level ball-dominators, it becomes very suboptimal.
You basically can't have ANYONE who is a sort of "boss" with the ball that makes plays and can run the show - guys like Love, Marc Gasol, Draymond won't work with Lebron - LEBRON'S the boss and if you used to be a boss on your old team, you can forget that on Lebron's team and get in line.
And you need a good clutch scorer who plays well off-ball.. So the team above has a spot-up shooter at PG, an off-ball scoring guard, and big men that don't create their own shots but play solid D.. The best duo in history would be MJ and Lebron, because MJ would drop 35 off-ball while Lebron was a rich man's (Bill Gates-type rich) Pippen.

Based on 2015-2016 salaries:
Conley-Klay-Crowder-LBJ-Gobert
Thomas-Barton-Covington-Gibson-Noel
Edit: I had to cheat some actually on the #. Maybe swap out Reddick for Klay to make it fit better under the salary cap.Or swap out a different, cheaper backup big for Gibson.
