Kobe: 30 points.
Bron: 48 points. (And that's excluding 20 points because OP makes up rules that don't help his agenda).

Thread backfire. Inb4 the alts/trolls.

this is why ISH will never have an official top 10

people sabotage polls by flipping the order and having jordan 10th, voting bran top 5 and some cases #1, leaving kobe out all together

when you all know none of this is even remotely possible

Get outta here bro.

Kobe isn't consensus top 10 at all.

And his peak isn't even consensus top 15, and he might not have even been the best player in the league in his peak years of 2006 (Wade was about even with him...if you value playoffs more you will pick Wade, if not then Kobe is a decent pick though) and 2009 (Lebron was better in total, and Wade's regular season was better).

You can also go check realgm's polls. They ban trolls, so their list is probably better than any ISH list.

3rd all time

A lot of scoring records is great, but of course is weighed down by the fact that he was shot chucker and inefficient.

His playoff runs were good, but his earlier playoff runs had a low FG%, TS%, and/or eFG%.

And of course his 2010 title wasn't that impressive. Gasol's was almost equal to it, if not equal.

Not sure how an inefficient chucker would help out a team with many other good options. He likely would have dropped down their efficiency and made them worse.

Meanwhile, Lebron was able to facilitate well and get Bosh and Ray Allen many easy looks. While scoring a whole lot as well at amazing efficiency levels.

Great. And Stephen Curry is having the GOAT offensive year right now and hasn't had a single 50 point game since opening night.

And if Curry did have a 50 point game similar to a Kobe 50 point game (one with around 40 true shot attempts), his 38 point games on 24 true shot attempts to the line would still be better than them.

And if you want to talk Lebron, then Lebron's 45 point games on 35 true shot attempts with 8 assists and 8 rebounds are better than basically 90% of Kobe's 50 point games.

just tells you how much currys being carried by teammates is all... if he didnt have the greatest 12 man roster since the 60's celtics.. maybe he'd have a few more 50's in there somewhere

when kobe won.. he only had 1 other great player. and only 2 other GOOD players... everyone else was SHHHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIITTTTT top to bottom for all 5 titles

curry might be the best by far right now. but prime kobe would be averaging 40 in todays league

I mean sh*t, Kobe is borderline top 10. Be happy with that.

There have been like 10,000 players to ever play in the NBA, a million to ever play college, a billion to ever play high school ball, and like 10 billion to ever pick up a basketball.

I can't stand delusional fans though. So GTFO.

We're talking about who the better player is, not who's better at putting up 50 points with as many shots as possible.

curry might be the best by far right now. but prime kobe would be averaging 40 in todays league
And now the troll crown comes out :lol

I mean sh*t, Kobe is borderline top 10. Be happy with that.

There have been like 10,000 players to ever play in the NBA, a million to ever play college, a billion to ever play high school ball, and like 10 billion to ever pick up a basketball.

I can't stand delusional fans though. So GTFO.

on a real ranking poll hes currently 6th

kobe averaged 35ppg in 2006

youre telling me in todays era WITHOUT CENTERS and even worse pussafied reffing that makes guys like james harden get prime jordan amounts of free throws per game

that kobe couldnt up his average by just 5 points?

kobe was slamming all over guys like prime duncan... youre telling me he cant slam a few extra dunks on todays 6-9 centers?

No, I don't think he average 5 more ppg. 2006 had the highest influx of scoring of modern times. A 21 y/o lebron averaged 31.

30 y/o AI averaged 33.

Deflection city baby!

21 y/o Lebron and 30 y/o AI both scored more than anyone in the game right now.

According to your views they would both be better than Curry, Durant, Kawhi, wtc

i didnt say 2006 kobe would average 40 in todays game because hes the best. ( which he would be )

i said it would be because he would be on a team that allowed him to average 40 and he can do it ( like the 2006 lakers )

obviously kobe on a great team in todays league wouldnt average more than 32-33 because he knows how to dial it back

i dont think iversons better than kawhi because of numbers either

neither do i think a younger lebron is more effective due to totals

i can think outside the box and gather that younger lebron ( still unable to shoot like todays lebron ) can get to the rim with his ultimate athleticism. he did free throw line dunks for god sake. he was a beast and a true physical specimen

todays lebron is a slower broken down version. still great. but not nearly as dominant athletically

iverson was a much much much better offensive player than kawhi. regardless of the numbers anyone can see this... kawhis better at defense. but his defense cant stop great shooters. just guys who drive like lebron. and iversons was a straight up shooter in 2006

as for the kobe vs curry coparrison... there really isnt one. kobe is so multi faceted offensively. he can manufacture points like harden when his shot isnt falling. currys forced to pass

my argument in terms of scoring was strictly era/potential based

There was no Kobe/Curry comparison in anything that I said...or implied..

Kobe was actually not a part of anything I said. Yet the meat of your essay is dedicated to him. Hmmm...

I think he's got a good case. :confusedshrug:

Great all-around player, fantastic scorer, very good playmaker and defender, and one of the very best at stepping up in the playoffs, particularly in the Finals against the best defensive dynasty the league has ever seen. If you look at how his teams fared in games with him vs. without him, he looks amazing.

It's between him and Hakeem for me for the 10th spot.

You really don't.

out of the top 10-11 players of all time ( jordan, kareem, magic, russell, kobe, wilt, shaq, duncan, hakeem, bird, lebron )

3rd in peak scoring average
2nd in career points
3rd in playoff points
3rd in finals mvps
1st in all nba teams

like i said. all signs point to top 5. you can hate it all you want. but after time passes and the hate dies down. fans will look back at kobes career as one of the most accomplished... especially after 20 years of "player voted mvps"

then fans will say "well how many mvps are there?.. **** that award" lol

I didn't even go through the rest of your BS, but .... :wtf:

Pip, MJ, Russell, Hondo, Jones, KAJ, Cousy, Horry, Sam Jones, etc. all have more rings off the top of my head.

Kobe is not even top 10 in career scoring average in both RS and PO's.

Peak scoring average?

You do know that Malone has more points than Kobe, right? And that there's literally 0% chance of Kobe passing him?

Someone feel free to go through the rest of this BS.

obviously kobe isnt battling horry in ring counts to put himself over lebron

and yes.. only jordan and wilt had a higher peak in scoring out of those guys. what are you laughing at?

Peak scoring? I'd take KAJ, MJ, and Wilt over Kobe as scorers any day. Heck, Bird put up 30 PPG on 61% TS. Volume scoring, given n number of shots to chuck, almost everyone.

its out of the guys who are debated for top 10 consideration...

those are the 11 names you hear 99% of the time

and of those 11 names kobe is top 1,2,3 in nearly every single catigory imaginable

and thus my simple yet intelligent reasoning behind kobe being a top 3-5 player at the absolute very least

1 - Wilt Chamberlain - 10 points
2 - Magic Johnson - 9 points
3 - Bill Russell - 8 points
4 - Shaquille O'Neal - 7 points
5 - Tim Duncan - 6 points
6 - Larry Bird - 5 points
7 - Lebron James - 4 points
8 - Oscar Robertson - 3 points
9 - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - 2 points
10 - Michael Jordan/Jerry West - 1 point

I was thinking about doing the same thing. Maybe even go Wilt, and then a bunch of role players from 2-9.

But ultimately, this "poll" means nothing anyway.

kobe has 18 allstar starts.... the most of all time

the next highest is jordan at 13

so take away his last 3 and hes still #1 all time

take away 1998 and hes still #1 all time

theres absolutely no possible logical way in anyones insane mind that kobe isnt the greatest and most deserving allstar of all time regardless of any asterisks associated with his selections

hes still the greatest.. period... nuff said

so it is A LEGITIMATE RECORD/ACHIEVEMENT

ok so your list obviously isnt about peaks and infact overall careers

why on earth did you put wilt over kareem then

and shaq over magic

and big O over duncan

etc..

Well most people put careers over impact and peaks so i went along with the crowd. Shaq was doubled and tripled probably more than any other player, he had more impact than Magic who had Kareem and Worthy as more onstoppable scorers. Big 0 was the most fundamentally sound player ever and the king of triple doubles so i have to put him above Duncan.

Just look at Warriors fan and Fudge. My goodfriend RTC, and RG also have plenty of alternate accounts in this forum.

And here's ISHGOAt. He's really from Toronto.
