I think the time has come that the Clippers look to trade Blake Griffin.

THis has nothing to do with him beating up that assistant. I just don't see the Clippers going beyond the second round with this unit.

They won't get higher than a 4 seed unless some major injuries happen. Which means they play the Warriors or Spurs in the 2nd round.

Right now they are 13-3 in games that Blake Griffin doesn't play.

And honestly the clippers didn't start winning till they traded for Chris Paul.

Might as well trade him and see if they can advance this roster without him.

If they traded Blake for Nerlens Noel and Robert Covington the Clippers can fill their hole at the small forward with an athletic 6'9 shooter and Nerlens Noel is one of the best young upcoming power forwards in basketball.

He does not have the offensive talent that Griffin has but Blake can't touch what Noel can do defensively. And Noel's defensive activity will cause more transition breaks.

What do you guys think?

Noel and DeAndre Jordan would be horrendous offensively

You need to pair DeAndre Jordan with a Stretch 4. (Ryan Anderson, or Kevin Love type of players).

Would Blake make for a good spot up shooter?

Cavs are going to run the pick and roll with him. And he's a better post player than K-Love.

Bron, Blake & Irving is a lot of firepower.

Blake at this point is just a slightly worse version of Bron.

No point having both of them on the same team.

lebron and blake at the 4/5 would be so good against that small warriors lineup

defensively they could switch everything, offensively they could run that side pick and roll with lebron/blake that the clips do with paul/blake. would be real nasty

wouldn't make sense for the clippers to do that trade. their offense isn't their real problem, it's their defense and bench.

His trade value is temporarily lowered. Trading him is fine, but not this season.

Funny everyone likes to hate on Griffin, but they would be first to have him on their team. At least he's not always hurt like glass joe Anthony Davis. This is embarrassing for him and am sure he'll mature from this.

:applause:

The last 2 years, NY has slowly been building a team that relies on chemistry. Why some people think they'll bite on low iq chuckers is beyond me. Must be forgetting that Jax is running things now.

If Clippers do trade Blake, it needs to be to the Eastern Conference. And I think that they need to get Boston and Denver involved for a best-case scenario.

Clippers Out: Griffin, Lance, CJ Wilcox
Clippers In: Gallinari, Barton, Avery Bradley, and Jae Crowder

Denver Out: Barton, Gallo
Denver In: David Lee, CJ Wilcox, 2016 Brooklyn pick, Minnesota '16 & '17 2nd rounders

Boston Out: Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder, '16 BKN pick, '16 & '17 MIN 2nd rounders
Boston In: Blake Griffin, Lance Stephenson

Denver might do it in hopes of getting Simmons. They probably shouldn't do it, though, considering how good/cheap both Barton/Gallo are. If LAC pull this off, check out the rotation:

CP3-Reddick-Crowder-Gallo-DJ
Bradley-Rivers-Barton-Pierce-Aldrich
Crawford, Mbah a Moute as needed

Edit: This deal is one-sided in Clippers' favor. Sort of what an ideal trade for them might involve.

Only way they do it is if they want a bigger shot at Simmons/Ingram.

Gallo & Faried for Blake and fillerClippers don't want Faried if they move Blake, but Gallo for sure would be interesting. If they move on from Blake, they want a 3&D wing(s) and a combo F to play small.

Would you trade Gallo & Barton for the Brooklyn pick this year? Just Gallo?

No Barton. Could always throw in Foye and or Hickson instead

No Barton. Could always throw in Foye and or Hickson insteadFoye or Hickson aren't enough. Hickson's a net negative (you'd need to attach a 2nd rounder just to get rid of him) and Clippers need bigger wings, not another smaller guy like Foye imo. Arthur would be a better throw-in imo (I thought not trying to sign him was a mistake by Doc), but they're better served getting another wing player now.

So would you do Gallo + Arthur for the Brooklyn pick? What about Gallo + Barton for the Brooklyn pick + Boston's pick (keep in mind in this scenario Boston loses Avery, Crowder, and Griffin would be out for 6+ weeks). And if you get rid of Gallo + Barton, the Nuggets would start sinking fast. You'd have 2 bottom 5 picks most likely + a mid 1st from Boston.
