In today's modern day ball of elite fast wings, we want to resign a slow turnstile fossil instead of trading him?
Bulls need to get their shit together. This isn't a big man's league anymore.

You wouldn't want him even if it is a cheaper contract?

The big men are coming back....paired with an elite pg/sg we are gonna see the glory days of the nba all over again. kareem and magic, kareen and oscar, shaq and kobe, penny and shaq, etc

Pretty sure this is just the Bulls pandering. They lost Noah for months (maybe the year), Mirotic is out until the All-Star Break. Now, their only bigs are Pau, Gibson, and Portis. Throw in McDermott as a small ball 4 if you'd like, too.
They have much less depth now- they're not going to say they want to move Gasol when they need his size right now. It's a leverage thing leading into the trade deadline.
