Westbrook is putting up 24/7/10/2.4 on 46%, while playing better defense than Harden (not that it's difficult to do) and his team the 3rd seed. The Rockets have 10 less wins than them and are a 7th seed.

Westbrook has clearly been better.

He shouldn't even be a reserve. Be grateful.

Harden has literally zero case over Westbrook. Absolutely zero. What a f*cking joke.

It seems like fans have caught on to Harden and his gimmick. Hell, it's even acknowledged it in one of his commercials. The numbers are pretty but his style of play isn't exactly something the fans want to see. He's a reserve though so who cares. In reality there's no difference between being a starter and a reserve. An all-star selection is an all-star selection.

I would take Gordon Hayward or Lillard over him, he does not deserve to be on the team this year.

blame the NBA not the player, harden is playing in to the current rules which promote his style of play and has been efficient at it. He has no case over westbrook but lilard and hayward for sure.

OKC wouldn't even be in the playoffs right now if it was not for Durant. :confusedshrug:

Harden is more valuable to his team than Westbrook...Just sayin' :confusedshrug:

While I don't necessarily disagree that Harden is more valuable he just hasn't been better.

Harden's style of play only allows him to flourish, while Westbrook has been making his teammates better to a degree.

And they're definitely in the playoffs without Durant. They'd be a 6-8 seed without him.

Who the hell would honestly want to watch Harden over Westbrook in the All-Star game? Seriously. The All Star game was made for people like Westbrook and Curry, not free throw shooters

why not just add a FT throw contest.

Good point. I actually don't have a problem with fans voting, and more often than not they get it right (or close to it). Most all-star starters would be selected as reserves if they weren't voted in, and as you mentioned it's actually a greater honor to be selected by the coaches.

Like I said before, a case like Kobe this year is extremely rare. I can't remember the last time a player was voted as a starter who was undeserving of being an all-star altogether (not including injured players because they are replaced and don't use up a roster spot). In fact I think it's nearly unprecedented.

No one likes watching Harden, but people need to stop pretending he isn't a great player.

He is a head snapping c*nt on the level of Ginobili and Parker, but he is still an absolute beast of a player. Clearly what he does works too, since he just went to the WCF last year, and only lost because they ran into one of the best teams of all time.

He's clearly a great player, but also clearly an annoying one to watch. He's exactly the kind of great player you DON'T want to see in an exhibition game.

Westbrook > Harden but Harden was arguably robbed of the All Star MVP last year so yeah he can play exhibition ball so enough the free throw crap.

Dude is averaging like 5 TOV's a game. His offense is terrible and his defense is worse. The only reason his TS is high is because of his FT's. 34 year old was is a much better defender than Harden and the guy is like 27.

What could possibly be the argument for James Harden over Russell Westbrook other than you really like him?

Just looking at a variety of metrics and Russell Westbrook is superior in PER, win shares, win shares/48, RPM, value over replacement, box plus/minus, etc.; and on top of all that, his team is significantly better than the Rockets.

Glad you are not trying to defend my point against Westbrook.

Harden led the Rockets to the playoffs multiple times as the man. Can't say the same for Westbrook. It's clearly KD's team.
